The phrase self-made gets thrown around a lot these days, but it has never been used more appropriately than to describe the music of rising hip-hop artist Sir Eliot Ness Baldwin.

After a string of buzz-building releases since 2015, from introducing his technical rap skills in Money Calls as well as his collaborations to produce a remix version in Money Calls (Chopped Not Slopped), Sir Baldwin kept up with the momentum and showcased another element of his artistry in I’m Me Pt. 1. This time, it’s about the stories of struggles and triumphs that he experienced throughout his life.

I’m Me Pt. 1 shows just how Sir Baldwin deserves to be heard. The album has been his best release so far, and it had gone through a lot of different versions of hard work and deep-to-the-core inspirations before it became the final product that connects people to his story.

Being the younger brother of one of the most notable female rap artists in the hip-hop industry, the Lady of Rage of The Dogg Pound, he has greatness and music in his blood. Besides music, he also has health issues that he uses as motivation and reason to fight for.

After losing his mother to lupus when he was just six years old, he suffered and fought his own medical battles as well. In 2010, the rap artist was also diagnosed with chronic systolic and diastolic congestive heart failure.

While this can easily become a reason to give up, Sir Baldwin chose to go beyond and overcome it and now carries a strong message as an advocate for health awareness on congenital heart disease and lupus. Overcoming his struggles is one story; the work he does for his peers is another. And he has chosen to help communities where finding medical care for these conditions is difficult. The rising rap artist has chosen to look at his struggles as a breakthrough for his life and career.

His album was released on March 17, 2020. His most recent release is his newest single “Mary Jane,” produced by Bruce Bang and featuring artists Luenell, Devin the Dude, Yung Redd, and Tony Mack.

Sir Baldwin has worked with industry heavyweights such as Paul Wall, Willie D, Daz, Dillinger, Scarface, Devin the Dude, Luenell, and many more. He is also part of the works of artists such as Wyclef Jean and Lil John. Sir Baldwin’s collaborations with various rappers pushed his name to even greater heights and garnered the attention of TV channels such as MTV and VH1. His efforts have opened more and more opportunities for him. One thing is for sure: people can see the talent, and Sir Baldwin is oozing with incredible flows and bars.

This self-made recording artist and producer is making music not only for himself but also for other people—to let them know they are not alone and to make a difference in their lives.
