World-renowned basketball coach John Saintignon has been in the sport of basketball ever since he was a young college kid at the University of California, Santa Cruz. As a young player, he was exceptionally talented. He is the All-Time Leading Scorer in University history. He also became the leading scorer in the entire USA back in 1985 – 1986 with a point average of 31.2 points per game, becoming the first-ever Hispanic player to achieve such an honor. He was a beast on the court, and everyone acknowledged his talents.

Even after he graduated with a degree in Economics, he was still riding off the highs of his collegiate basketball career. He became a professional basketball player overseas.  Once he decided that it was time to retire, he returned to the USA with the hopes of becoming a lawyer as he entered Law School.  Soon he discovered that burning passion he had for the game and decided to get his start coaching high school basketball.  Later, he became a member of the coaching staff at Oregon State University after he took up a Master of Arts degree at Liberty University back in 2012. After three successful seasons of staying at Oregon State University, he traveled to Mexico, where he became the Head Coach of the Culiacan Caballeros.

Saintignon was a force to be reckoned as a coach. He has led so many teams to improve their performances and has drastically improved their game. After working with the Caballeros, he was hired as the Head Coach at Sitra Club in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Wherever he went, he would always know how to improve a team’s performance. He was such an inspiring speaker that he boosted the morale of his players no matter their nationality. His love for basketball was a universal language, and he understood what it took for his teams to succeed.

In 2018, Saintignon became an independent scout for the LA Clippers. With his keen eye for talent, he was assigned to oversee players in Poland, Croatia, and Italy. And with his connections over at the NCAA, he managed to scout for talents in that circuit as well.

People flocked around Santignon with his amazing charisma. Teams from all over the world were looking to enlist his help to improve their game. Eventually, in 2019, Saintignon was asked to become a replacement coach for a Japanese team in the B League. And once again, Saintignon delivered. He led the team towards an eventual playoff berth, but the B League season was abruptly canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With sports from all over the world at an eventual standstill, Saintignon is just biding his time before he gets to coach another team towards victory. In the meantime, he has released a book entitled “Take Your Shot, Make Your Play!.” The book is a guide to finding success on and off the court from the man himself. Saintignon is also planning to release another book about discovering his birth parents after being put for adoption into another country.

John Saintignon is a household name in the sport of basketball. He is an inspiration as a player and as a coach. No matter how you look at it, the sport of basketball runs deeply in his soul. It is with great honor that a man of his caliber has given his talents to so many teams from around the world. Saintignon is an inspiration through and through.
