Julian has had the pleasure of learning and receiving mentorship  from icons such as Mike Tyson, Richard Branson, P. Diddy, and many others.

Starting a business in this day and age sounds exciting and “sexy” according to a lot of people, but most of them don’t truly know what it takes and what foundation you need to lay in order to build a successful company.

This article is for all the aspiring and progressing entrepreneurs out there! Wanna-preneurs are welcome too, but he hopes to help you understand  what it takes so you can make that next step.

Between starting a luxury concierge business in the past called My Exotic Lifestyle™, up to recently co-founding  Reliefly, a CBD company, Julian believes that it’s important to have a couple things on point so you can set your sails in the right direction.

First, WHAT do you want to solve with your business?

Maybe your idea is a passion project, but the main question you need to ask yourself is what problem do you want to solve?

As an entrepreneur, the more problems we solve, the greater our success will be. Become solution-oriented and be on a mission to solve.

Julian co-founded Reliefly together with his partner to solve an ongoing problem in the marketplace. Although there are many existing CBD companies, most of them don’t put out premium products. Many companies launch solely off the focus of profit margin and marketing opportunity. Julian wanted to change that by providing premium and lab-tested products at a competitive price, and giving a portion of the profits to charity.

In regards to your idea or company, how can you differentiate yourself in the market and what is your marketing edge?  What problem can you solve even if your market is saturated? Coming with a unique approach will help set you apart and will help you gain your competitive edge!

Julian’s problem solving focus also takes place in a company where he offers financial solutions to people who want to take control of their finances and multiply their money in the world’s largest markets.

This platform offers education, live trading sessions, and tools that help people build a skill set. If customers don’t have the time to learn, they can follow the expert traders to see results in the forex, stock, and crypto currency markets!

Julian realized that not enough people knew what to do with the money they were making from their job or business.  They simply put it in a bank account and let the banks trade their money. With this knowledge, Julian set out on a mission to inform people through different marketing efforts on why they needed to learn what the banks do to multiply money.

Over 100,000 customers are involved now. When Julian decided to create a partnership with the CEO, his focus was bringing these financial salutations to the world.

Becoming solution-oriented is one of the most important focuses you can harness.

Next, if you are starting your own business, you want to create a name and brand that stands out. Julian’s CBD company, Reliefly, was created to be memorable and attract people emotionally. The brand aims to evoke the sense of feeling relieved and good. The logo was created with a luxurious essence in mind. It’s important to have your name be memorable and express the quality of your company through your design. Some people randomly come up with names or they pick one that just pops into their head, but you should always try to put together a thoughtful, unique and expressive brand.

Some of the basics that are important to a successful business is your idea, your team, your products, and how you execute. Is your idea unique or different? If not, can you execute and put together a competitive edge just like what Julian said before?

Who is a part of your team? Very few people are self-made unless you get lucky, like winning big by scratching a lottery ticket. Starting a business is not like this. You need to have structure. Who do you want in your winning circle?  Who can add to the company and bring something that you don’t possess to the table? Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs both contributed to the success of Apple. Both understood the basics and the programming, but Woz was more focused on the technical side of things while Jobs assumed the role of telling the story of Apple and creating emotion from the message. You need people on your team that add to what you lack and push you to progress the company!

Next, focus on packaging and promotion.  If you are starting a product-based company, how can you create emotion when people see your products and packaging?  The first impression is important especially with customers that see or try your products for the first time. How can you stand out?  What can you include in your packaging when people first get their products? Maybe it can be a welcome message or a discount for their next product purchase.  Package your products so it makes people feel warm when they open it up. Maybe even a handwritten note to your first customers thanking them. These small actions mean a lot to customers and will  build a retention-based customer base.

If you are starting a service-based company, some of the same tactics apply, but obviously will be packaged through emails and marketing campaigns.  When someone buys a monthly subscription or purchases an online service, the purchase process needs to be smooth and easy. ] With lots of services online and tons of options, people can get lost in the online sauce! Make sure welcome emails are structured and customer appreciation or loyalty promotions are in place.

Lastly, and probably something that most people look over, is the legal side of things.  These things should be done first but can be boring and time-consuming. Hiring a good trademark attorney, business lawyer, and CPA can help with these mundane but mandatory tasks. .  Not doing the legal stuff can bite you in the butt later on when it comes to competition companies or even with your business partners. So make sure your t’s are crossed and i’s are dotted!  Find out from your CPA whether you should structure as a LLC – Limited Liability Company, S Corporation, or C Corporation. Delaware is one of the go-to states for incorporation because of its flexible business formation statute. Over 50% percent of publicly traded companies in the US are incorporated in Delaware.

According to Julian, there are more things you need to be aware of when you are starting a business. But, outlining your business plan will help you situate all these things and give you a clear focus.

You can access free business plans  on www.bplans.com and write one up, or you can have someone help write one up for you. The point is, get one set up and then execute on those plans.

Wanna-preneurs create business plans too, but they just never execute and that will keep you from creating that business and building your passion.

Julian wants to leave you with this message “Go for it!  Take risks! Work your butt off! And enjoy every lesson, challenge, and failure along the way as an entrepreneur.  This helps create your story and makes you a limitless entrepreneur!”
