Private Investment Management in a Public Context: Ronnie Negus and The Hillcore Group

Ronnie Holly Stevenson Negus has built a reputation mostly around her philanthropy, various community projects, and just being visible in the public eye. Her family’s been tied to private business in Canada for a long time, but she has always kept her own role there pretty low key with no big executive spotlight. Instead, she has poured her energy into charity efforts, family life, and supporting causes that matter.

Why Davis Householder Believes Deal Structure Matters More Than Headline Price

Born September 6, 1968, in Seattle, Washington, Ronnie grew up and went to school right there, finishing up in 1986. After that, she split time between Seattle and the Hollywood Hills in California, kind of a mix of entrepreneurial vibes and creative scenes. She never really chased the classic corporate ladder or advanced degrees. Instead, she picked up business know how the old fashioned way through real life experiences, solid long term partnerships, and just being around people running actual companies and making tough calls. That hands on background gave her a grounded take, focusing on the people involved, the day to day realities of operations, thinking years ahead, and bouncing back when things shift.

Private Enterprise and Long Term Perspective

Ronnie has longstanding family ties to private investment activity in Canada. While the broader business platform operates privately and maintains discretion, her own involvement has remained largely behind the scenes. She has never positioned herself as an executive operator, instead valuing privacy, continuity, and long term stewardship over public visibility in business matters.

Public Recognition and Public Voice

A lot of people first got to know Ronnie from her time on the first two seasons of The Real Housewives of Vancouver, that was over a decade ago now. These days she keeps an active presence online, especially on social media, where she is pretty open and consistent. Philanthropy and Community Support Giving back has always been a steady part of her life, not some once in a while thing, but an ongoing commitment. She has backed children’s hospitals, shelters for women and kids escaping abuse, projects helping out in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, and even accessibility efforts like building hockey rinks so people with disabilities can play. On the youth side, she supported programs tied to the Kielburger brothers early on, which grew into WE Day, plus she has stayed involved with Power2Be, helping provide outdoor recreation to people who face barriers. What stands out is how she goes for lasting change, long term involvement, real results, not just chasing credit.

Family and Long Term Perspective

She and Russell Negus tied the knot back in 2001, so they have been together more than 25 years now. They have four children in the family. Even through tough times, she keeps things centered on family, taking responsibility seriously, and always looking at the bigger picture, what gets passed on, what needs protecting, and how to leave things a little better for others. On July 4, 2022, her son Houston Stevenson died at the age of 27. His passing marked a profound turning point in her life. Since then, Ronnie has spoken more openly about grief, men’s mental health, and the importance of recognizing emotional struggles that often go unseen. Rachel is currently in the process of making the Houston Stevenson Story documentary, a project focused on mental health awareness and the impact of loss on families.

Conclusion

Overall, Ronnie Holly Stevenson Negus lives in this interesting space between a very private family and business world and more visible public involvement. She has stayed connected to private enterprise without making it her main stage, and when she does step into the spotlight, it is purposeful and authentic. These days her energy goes heavily toward philanthropy and community work, driven by real compassion and a desire to create meaningful, positive change.
