Of all the different types of card games in casinos, the smartest of players have attested to preferring baccarat. And it is quite intriguing because blackjack seems to be the more popular variant. Either way, what stands out in baccarat that makes smart players love it? Why would someone visit a brand and prefer to play baccarat over any other game? We have the answers and this article will give you five reasons why smarter players would pick baccarat over other games anytime, and any day. Read on and enjoy!

House Edge

This is by far the most obvious reason. House edge dictates the advantage the casino has over you so players are always looking for games with the lowest house edge. Let’s do a quick breakdown of some popular casino games:

  • Roulette: Casinos love roulette players and want you roulette players and also want you to play it more, and why? Because it has a house edge of 5.26%.
  • Craps: Craps is a little on the low side with house edge averaging 1.40% to 1.41% depending on whether you play the pass line or not.
  • Baccarat: Baccarat’s house edge is 1.06% which is one of the lowest among other popular games.

The numbers don’t lie. We believe you can see the reason for yourself—after all, who doesn’t want a higher win probability?

Simplicity

In baccarat, you don’t have to be very profound in the rules to start wagering your way to profits because of its simplicity. There are only three betting types; you can either bet on a player, the banker, or a tie game. The banker gives you the highest win probability and is also the reason for the low house edge. Smart players don’t like overcomplications, they just want to win. So why opt for something more difficult when baccarat provides something easy?

For a game like blackjack, you must know more than just the bet types. It demands being conversant with certain strategies and systems to win. And most importantly, more concentration compared to baccarat.

Comfort

You probably didn’t see this coming but it is something smart players actually consider. Throughout your baccarat game, you have no reason to stand. But as for other games like craps, you are on your feet all through. And while you may not consider it a big deal at first, when you play for extended periods, you will find yourself unusually exhausted.

The only game comparable with baccarat in this aspect is blackjack which you also sit while playing. However, in terms of overall comfort, not so much. Blackjack demands that you are always active as you bet on almost every move in the game.

Decision Time

By decision time, we refer to the interval you have to make betting decisions. If it is too small, it mounts unnecessary pressure on you. But if it is too spaced out, players easily get bored. So the perfect interval has to be something in-between.

For a game like craps, the interval is unpredictable; it could be 15 seconds and sometimes over 20 minutes depending on the flow of the game. Roulette takes roughly five minutes which is just enough time to make you bored.

As for baccarat, it is quite flexible because you can significantly control the pace of the game. But the average decision interval is some time between 40 seconds to a minute which is a very optimal range.

Bankroll Management

If there is something we know about smart casino players, it is that they are very conscious of their bankroll. So they are always out for games that will allow them to achieve this consciousness. And baccarat is one of the few games that helps them to achieve it. Contrary to popular opinion, baccarat is not exclusively a high-roller game so you can play with lower amounts. Whether you have a small or huge budget, baccarat will fit in.

Conclusion

Now that you have seen it by yourself, you can attest that the smart players have a solid basis for sticking with baccarat. By no means are we discrediting other casino games but amidst everything, never forget risk management when playing.
