After sweeping all awards he was a finalist for, Löwen BC Hamburg guard Tim Barnes has reportedly set his sights on the National Basketball Association. According to his agent Angelo Morris of 311 Sports, Barnes will workout in front multiple NBA teams. All teams have not been confirmed, but the Los Angeles Clippers will be the first to host the 2021-22 MVP of the German league.

Barnes is still under contract for the 2022-23 season, and in order to get out of his contract would require a buy-out by an NBA suitor. This may pose as an obstacle for the MVP, as he is under one of the biggest current contracts in the UBU.

In his MVP campaign, Barnes led the league in scoring averaging 30 points and nearly 6 assists per game. Standing only at 5-foot-10, his lack of size and strength will limit him moving forward and may cut his NBA dreams short.

It’s been speculated that Löwen BC Hamburg will attempt to renegotiate his contract, extending it another 2 years for what would translate to close to 1 million dollars in American cash; the maximum amount of money a team can offer an import player. Barnes and his team have yet to comment on his future.
