Rising model and actor Akeem Mair is currently making more waves in the industry after his appearance in the American television game show “Let’s Make a Deal.” Known for his passion for the craft and impressive portfolio, the go-getter is one of today’s must-watch personalities.

Hailing from Pasadena, California, Akeem Mair did not set out to carve a path toward the forefront of the entertainment scene from the get-go. Although he was interested in acting as a child, having performed in numerous school productions over the years, it was not until a loyal customer at his daytime job as a financial banker that he realized his potential. “You have this huge charismatic personality that radiates positive energy in people. Are you an actor?” asked the customer. This particular question prompted the move that would take him toward the limelight.

Today, Akeem Mair is leaving a mark as an actor who has booked principal and leading roles in various California Universities, Warner Brother productions, and various independent film projects. Apart from appearing on the big screen, including in two New York Film Academy films, this self-starter is also gaining the interest and capturing the loyalty of viewers by gracing shows, such as “Let’s Make a Deal.”

The opportunity to join the cast of Let’s Make a Deal was an unexpected blessing for Akeem Mair. “My cousin had received an invitation to join the show around June 1, but he wasn’t interested in doing it, so he asked me if I wanted to accept the invitation, and I said yes,” recalls the passion-fueled figure. Shortly afterward, he got in touch with Valeri Pitman from Pitman Casting, expressing his interest in being a contestant.

During his interview with the casting producer, Jerry Artukovich, Akeem Mair did not hesitate to share how he has set his eyes on playing “Go Big or Go Home” as he has always been fascinated with big risks rewards. Additionally, he was very direct about the desire to win a car for his brother, who helped him out a lot. Three months later, good news came from Chelsea Spence, the show’s casting associate producer, and coordinator.

While his original idea to don a Green Lantern costume did not pan out because of a licensing issue, Akeem Mair still managed to shine thanks to a brilliant idea by the game show’s contestant producer, Evelyn Bradfield. Plastering a Zonk sticker to cover up the logo on his chest, he was able to transform into Let’s Make a Deal’s Superhero, “Zonk!” Before his scheduled appearance on the show, the rising star went all-out in terms of preparation. “I followed their Twitter page, and they listed the Quickie Deal items: a mustard packet, eraser, and a roll of pennies. Who knew bringing a pack of mustard would actually end up winning me $500,” he adds.

With the success of his participation in the long-running show, Akeem Mair cemented his name even more solidly within the entertainment scene. More appearances and projects can be expected from this future household name as he makes his way to center stage.
