It’s already been 3 months since we entered 2021. And nobody wants to look back at the bittersweet memories of 2020 that the world had to witness with the novel coronavirus. The entire year saw the tradition of work from home as stepping out of home was dangerous back then. For that matter, beauty and makeup had taken a backseat as people got accustomed to no makeup or less makeup look. With the situation getting better, many have started using makeup brushes to get that stunning look. But what does 2021 have in the store for everyone? Sharing the views about the same, celebrity makeup artist Reshu Malhotra spills the beans on the makeup and beauty trends to look for in 2021.

The MUA believes that a natural look or minimal makeup look gives more glow to the skin, and it has surely been in trend. With the new normal of working from home, the screen time of people using laptops and smartphones went up drastically. Looking at it, Malhotra suggests that eye care will be yet another trend this year. “Many people’s sleeping patterns went on a toss in the past one year. With irregular sleeping patterns and excessive usage of electronics, it is of utmost importance to take care of the vision. I suggest to wash eyes regularly and put cucumber on eyes for 10 minutes to feel refreshed”, says Malhotra.

Another makeup trend Reshu suggests is that of lipsticks and lip colours. For almost a year, ladies did not get an opportunity to step out. With masks being mandatory, women are still in for different lipstick shades. “It is the basic makeup tool of every woman. And, there’s a special love story woman has with lipstick. It is never going out of trend”, quoted the MUA. Moreover, with the DIY skincare followed in these months, the growth of DIY in haircare, skincare and body grooming will be one interesting trend throughout the year, believes Reshu. However, the beauty blogger further added that there will be a drastic demand for a makeup artist for the ones who are ardent followers of makeup and beauty.

Reshu Malhotra, the name that goes synonymous with makeup in the entertainment industry has styled many B-Town divas. The Dubai-based blogger has done makeovers of celebrities including Jacqueline Fernandez, Urvashi Rautela, Ileana D’Cruz, Divya Khosla Kumar, Kalki Koechlin, Shriya Saran and many more. Having learnt the art of makeup from The London Makeup School, Esmod Dubai and Makeup For Ever, Reshu Malhotra has been trained in professional hair-dressing from Fat Mu Pro Academy. With having a strong clientele of many reputed names from India and the UAE, the makeup artist is undoubtedly the favourite choice of all makeup enthusiasts.
