Maaleak Wilbur: the Steep Climb to Success

In conquering dreams, the most important part is putting the first step forward. No matter how out of reach a vision seems, the possibility that it will come to fruition will always be there so long as the person dares to turn it into a reality. As one of those with an indomitable spirit and unyielding determination, Maaleak Wilbur hopes to inspire people around him.

Maaleak Wilbur is a 20-year-old expert in SMM (social media marketing) who has successfully built his brand on social media by helping various internet celebrities establish their brand. He is also a serial entrepreneur and an investor with over eight years of experience as a social media influencer, amassing over 50 million followers across many social media platforms.

Now a public speaker and worthy influencer to today’s youth, Maaleak Wilbur’s story is one of a steep climb to success. Unlike most kids that grow up in the warmth of family, Maaleak had a difficult childhood and was admitted to the foster care system at the young age of four. He was in four different foster homes, three residential homes, a few group homes, and eventually entered the witness protection program (WITSEC). At the age of eight, Maaleak fell in love with gaming and poured himself into his newfound passion. When he was a 12-year-old teenager, his passion for games translated into a vast gaming fanbase; he gained over 30,000 YouTube subscribers. However, the success was to be short-lived as his unstable living condition forced him back into the foster care system, and his Youtube channel got hacked, meaning that Maaleak had to start from scratch again.

Undeterred by the obstacle, Maaleak started going live on Facebook in 2013, gaining a new following of teenagers and young adults who adored him for his charisma. He started making relationship advice videos and won over the hearts of thousands of people, gaining over 100,000 Facebook followers. During that time, Maaleak began his social media marketing business as he started helping his friends reach new audiences. In 2015 as the audience on Facebook started to thin, Maaleak switched platforms to Instagram and Snapchat, where he applied his skills and quickly amassed over 120k followers in total. However, since Maaleak was still in the Witness Protection Program (WITSEC), he wasn’t allowed to gain publicity for his safety, and Maaleak’s social media page was temporarily suspended.

When he turned 18, Maaleak returned to his life and continued on social media. Since his comeback, Maaleak has built a great network of over 1Million+ followers across all his social media platforms and manages over 50 Million+ Followers across TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and YouTube, where he makes a relatable relationship and educational content on TikTok and Instagram. Maaleak has also been featured in numerous media outlets.

Growing up without a family developed Maaleak’s formidable character as he learned not to rely on people to get things done. To fend for himself, he worked multiple jobs and was still able to graduate high school with high honors. He later taught himself how to trade and invest, making a full-time income from social media, and invested his money in the Forex market.

When asked about his 5-year goal, Maaleak says, “l see me as a public speaker traveling the world, helping people and inspiring them. Maybe even write a book on my life story and being a successful YouTuber and businessman.” Maaleak Wilbur is proof that bad beginnings can still lead to a life of triumph, and he wants to encourage the youth to know that they can do anything they want in life no matter their current circumstances.
