Perhaps, his early interest in music set the directions for early successes. When he was just 11 years old Simon Alex started using his mum’s laptop to recreate his favourite EDM tracks. A few years later, he had established himself in the international EDM scene.

He managed to build up the momentum and get working with some big names including Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, and Swedish House Mafia, who’s member, Steve Angello, took Simon under his wing. Soon, Simon began to focus his talents on the behind-the-scenes side of things. The talented artist specialized in helping touring DJs to produce and finish their tracks. In a bigger context – Alex was still at high school when all this was going down.

After a little while, he found that he wanted to shift the sound of the music he worked with, wanting to focus more on pop-oriented tracks, although he still dabbled in other genres including hip-hop, indie and jazz.
Not long after school, Simon joined the New York University Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, but he dropped out after a year to begin managing the up-and- coming Bouba Savage. He worked closely with Savage to help develop the young rapper’s sound

But his hard work has paid off, having worked with many big name brands and up-and- coming acts. In terms of brands, he has worked with the likes of Nike, Footlocker and Helmut Lang. He has also worked with big names in the audio industry including Universal Music Group, Juice WRLD, Victor Victor Worldwide, Ansel Elgort, Brockhampton, Lil Tecca, Columbia Records, SOPHIE, Pop Smoke, Fivio Foreign, Republic Records and Kenny Beats.

No one knows what the next year will bring to the fast paced industry, but with people like Simon Alex and Fly AVTR, we can rest assured there is always a wide range of talents coming up.
