Damien Harris, known as Lil Sporty D, is a music artist, engineer, songwriter, and CEO of record label Mentality Music Entertainment. Through his various roles in the music industry, he helps his clients and the youth in his locality gain career and life opportunities.

Too often, people with talent and aspirations never get to taste success because society deprives them of the chance to pursue their dreams and develop their abilities. Lil Sporty D is intimately familiar with this culture in the music industry. His awareness of the challenges faced by musicians, especially young artists trying to break through into the mainstream, motivated him to provide them with a fighting chance and the tools to hone their skills.

Mentality Music Entertainment is the embodiment of Lil Sporty D’s endeavor to provide up-and-coming artists with more opportunities in life. The record label is based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mentality Music Entertainment offers general services to the public, such as music recording, engineering, production, distribution, and publishing.

By making these services available to the youth, Lil Sporty D helps cultivate the next generation of musicians, artists, producers, songwriters, and sound engineers. As Mentality Music Entertainment continues growing into a household name, the company is better poised to help their clients create their own businesses. Lil Sporty D is particularly concerned with helping fresh college graduates pay off their student loans.

People often develop the motivation to succeed and the desire to help others in need because of significant life experiences. For Lil Sporty D, this drive runs deep. Part of what pushes him forward is his ongoing search for an escape from his past. Lil Sporty D also wants to play his role in improving the playing field for the people who will lead the music industry in the future.

The artist describes his childhood as a rough experience. He grew up in Marrero Project, an area many consider as one of the toughest neighborhoods across the bridge from New Orleans. Damien lived in a household of 14 kids, and their single mother tried to raise them in their 2-bedroom apartment. The state soon placed them in foster care.

Damien Harris first thought of starting a music career at the age of 12. At first, he was recording songs on cassette players with his brothers and a few friends. He quickly realized that he was going to build a career off of his passion for music.

A few years later, Damien began community college to find ways to break away from his past. He decided to get back into music. However, major record labels never afforded him any opportunities. Taking matters into his own hands, he decided to start his own label instead.

Recently, Lil Sporty D began working with mainstream artists. On his first single, “CERTIFIED,” he collaborated with Magnolia Chop and Jay Jones. Both artists are signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment and Universal Records. “Like Woah,” Lil Sporty D’s second single, features Lil Noodle, who is signed to Sony Music Entertainment Just recently released new single “FEARLESS” feat Abg Keith Kidd Kidd & Young Juve November 6 2020.

Lil Sporty D is a unique artist dedicated to his craft. He is scheduled to release more songs very soon that people can relate to. Follow him on Twitter to learn more.
