Data Protection is Becoming a Top Priority in the US as Countries Adopt new Laws Worldwide

There has been a number of ransomware cases seen in US companies because their hard drive data has been accessed and published online. Hard drives can store credit card information, payment information, and account details. Even after erasing the hard drive data they still remain vulnerable to recover due to magnetic strips. To tackle the issue, data protection in the US is becoming a top priority and the country has recently updated its GDPR. The US is adopting the implementation of GDPR in Europe to make a privacy shield and California has also brought a new data law that will be effective from January 2020.

Even the software security in the US is top class. But data protection from hard drives is a little bit problem. Hence the new GDPR is enabling the US businesses to use new tools that are certified by NATO and NSA. Earlier the business was relying on software to erase records. But Verity Systems has made it easier with its automatic hard drive degaussers tool which is certified by NATO and NSA. This tool magnetically erases the previous data of an empty hard drive and makes it dead for recycling purpose. Alternatively, hard drive crusher of Verity Systems can break the hard drive in pieces to free up space in your office.

Almost every country is bringing changes in their respective GDPR because their businesses are under pressure to secure customer data when they transfer that internationally. Some regulations under GDPR of few countries fine the company to lose the data. These strict regulations made under GDPR are also becoming a primary need in US businesses along with other countries. Everybody is aware of the recent Equifax breach where 147 million social security numbers were leaked, and they could be paying up to $700 million in damages. Hence it is becoming necessary for companies to introduce data protection measures by including auditing and having data degaussers and destroyers to erase data.
