For as long as he could remember, Jay Chavez has been making music since he was tall enough to see over the piano keys. From then on, he spent the next 35 years playing alongside the music industry’s most beloved stars.

Chavez has practically played every genre imaginable. Rock, country, classical, bluegrass, showtunes, alternative, blues, jazz—any genre anyone could think of, Chavez has definitely played it. The vast range of music genres that he has covered throughout his entire career has given him a brand new perspective on songwriting.

He finally decided several years ago that it was finally time for him to take a break from touring and compile his music into a full-fledged album. Thus, Plain Brown Wrapper was born along with his new group aptly called the Jay Chavez Band.

Chavez is over the moon with this recent development in his career. It had always been his lifelong dream to have his songs finally released to the public. After writing so many songs over a span of decades, he has now finally found the right moment to share his music with the world.

Jay composed all of the instrumental parts on the album himself, which he owes to his varied knowledge of musical instruments. He also wrote all the lyrics himself, which makes the album a whole passion project born out of his own hard work. In the recording studio, he even had a personal hand in making sure that each part played had the correct feel that perfectly complements the song.

Each song on the album comes directly from personal experience in his life. Which is why he wants to get the sound right so he can connect better with all of his listeners, it’s one of the most important aspects of his album that he has seemed to refine at the best level possible.

Following the releases of his first and second singles, Chavez had plans to tour around the Summer, but the world suddenly turned upside down. With the recent pandemic shaping the way everyone’s lives work, becoming a touring musician has been suddenly put on hold. However, despite the troubled times, Chavez still makes sure to keep the spark of hope alive.

He firmly believes that music can have a positive impact on the minds of the people, especially those that are on the frontlines of the ongoing pandemic. In the current climate, the world needs unity, compassion, and love right now more than ever. Chavez wants to reach out and touch even just a few people to make all of his recent releases worthwhile. It is with great joy and excitement that he releases his work out into the world.

With his vast musical experiences, he has fully embraced the lifestyle that his career entails, but it doesn’t mean that he’ll leave his loved ones behind. Nowadays, he enjoys living on a horse ranch in the mountains of Northern California alongside his wife, his mom, and his pets.

He spends most of his days off working outside with the animals and fixing everything by himself. He prefers to be hands-on when it comes to his property. One day, he believes that he will be living on the tour bus playing shows, and the next, he’ll be knee-deep in dirty work.
