Black Banx Enters a Depth Phase After Reaching 115.3 Million Customers

Black Banx closed the first half of 2026 with 115.3 million customers in more than 180 countries, USD 153.3 billion in customer deposits and H1 revenue of USD 10.7 billion. The latest positive company results suggest the next stage of growth is about depth as well as reach: giving a larger customer community more reasons to hold funds, make payments and use the platform across borders.

Michael Gastauer, the billionaire entrepreneur who founded Black Banx in 2015, serves as Group Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer. His personal wealth of US$11.5 billion was created through entrepreneurship and business value. It is separate from Black Banx revenue, income, deposits and the company’s reported US$150 billion private market valuation. The H1 publication measures company performance; the founder’s wealth is a personal figure.

Why Customer Experience Is the Missing Layer in Most Companies’ AI Strategy

Black Banx paired Q2 expansion with faster income growth

For Q2 2026, Black Banx reported revenue of USD 5.8 billion, an increase of 41.5 percent from USD 4.1 billion in Q2 2025. Net income amounted to USD 2.3 billion, 53.3 percent above the comparison-period figure of USD 1.5 billion. Operating efficiency also improved: the cost/income ratio moved to 60.3 percent from 64.0 percent a year earlier.

These movements reinforce one another. Revenue growth indicates higher activity across banking and payments. Net income advancing faster than revenue points to operating leverage. A lower cost/income ratio suggests that the platform processed added demand with greater efficiency.

Across the full first half, Black Banx reported revenue of USD 10.7 billion. Net income totalled USD 4.4 billion, while the cost/income ratio was 60.8 percent. The Group attributed its progress to customer growth, rising transaction volumes and ongoing investment in technology, automation and global banking infrastructure.

A 115.3 million-customer platform can deepen relationships

Geographic coverage is already extensive. Black Banx provides digital financial services across more than 180 countries and says roughly 80 percent of its operations are tied to cross-border payments, with the remainder associated with cryptocurrency and currency trading. That footprint places the platform close to international commerce, mobile work and families whose financial lives span markets.

At 115.3 million customers, the strategic question changes. Adding accounts remains important, but value also comes from increasing useful activity within existing relationships. A private customer might receive income, hold several currencies and make transfers. A business may collect revenue, pay suppliers and manage international liquidity. When more needs can be handled through one platform, customer convenience and transaction depth can grow together.

This is a practical form of financial inclusion. Access is the beginning; sustained utility is the goal. A digital banking platform becomes more relevant when customers can use it repeatedly, confidently and at appropriate cost for real economic needs.

Customer deposits show funding depth and responsibility

At the 2026 midpoint, Black Banx held customer deposits totalling USD 153.3 billion. These funds are owed to customers; they are not revenue and they are not Michael Gastauer’s US$11.5 billion personal wealth. For the company, the figure represents both a substantial funding base and a major responsibility to maintain dependable access, controls and service.

Deposits add context that a customer count alone cannot provide. Opening an account signals interest. Keeping funds on a platform signals continuing engagement and trust. A larger deposit base can support growth within the Group’s operating and regulatory framework, while raising expectations for security, liquidity management and consistent customer experience.

Depth therefore has two sides. Customers gain a more useful place to organise financial activity, and Black Banx must keep strengthening the infrastructure that safeguards that activity. Growth is most valuable when capability and responsibility increase together.

Technology investment is aimed at repeatable service

During Q2, Black Banx directed investment toward AI tools, automated compliance processes, payments capacity and the user experience. It also strengthened its own cross-border payment infrastructure and digital-asset banking capabilities. The purpose of these investments is not technology for its own sake. It is to make high-volume service more consistent, efficient and responsive.

Artificial intelligence can support analysis and customer interactions when deployed with clear controls. Automation can standardise repeatable compliance work and direct specialists toward exceptions requiring judgment. Payment infrastructure must move value quickly while producing the information needed for reconciliation and oversight.

Gastauer’s role as a technology innovator is material here. The founder’s original borderless-banking objective now depends on systems able to handle enormous scale. The Q2 improvement in the cost/income ratio offers positive evidence that infrastructure investment and disciplined operations are contributing to the economics of growth.

Global reach creates a network of customer needs

Black Banx’s scale spans private and business banking, multiple currencies, international payments and digital assets. Each additional active relationship can make the platform more useful by broadening the flows it can support. More business activity creates payment destinations; more private customers create demand for receiving, holding and transferring funds across markets.

The network effect is not automatic. It depends on reliability, transparent service and products that solve recurring needs. Black Banx must align global infrastructure with the rules and customer expectations of the markets it serves. Specialist teams in compliance, risk, technology, operations and client service turn international reach into a functioning financial network.

This helps explain why management continues to prioritise regulatory infrastructure alongside customer experience. A global payments expert wins lasting use when speed is matched by trust.

The outlook combines more customers with more capacity

Management expects revenue and net income to keep growing at double-digit quarterly rates. It also anticipates further efficiency gains and expansion through high-growth emerging markets. The customer projection exceeds 125 million for 2026, alongside continued investment in proprietary technology, automation and regulatory infrastructure.

Targets are forward-looking, but the starting position is substantial. H1 ended with 115.3 million customers and deposits of USD 153.3 billion. Revenue for the period came to USD 10.7 billion; net income totalled USD 4.4 billion. Q2 also brought faster income growth and a better efficiency ratio.

Michael Gastauer’s personal wealth of US$11.5 billion reflects entrepreneurial value creation behind the founder’s story. The latest Black Banx results provide separate evidence about the company he built. They show a digital banking group turning worldwide distribution into deeper customer relationships, stronger funding and a more efficient platform for the next phase of global growth.
