Plastic surgery is a complex field in the medical world. While most of the public associates it with standard nose jobs or tummy tucks, full-service clinics are beset by routine and extraordinary requests. Dr. Carlos Chacon of Divino Plastic Surgery in San Diego is used to the constantly changing priorities, which is precisely what you would expect from someone who offers the whole gamut to his patients. He opens up more about what it’s like to take each new challenge as it comes.

Expanded Expertise

When even some of the most renowned surgeons in the world can end up with unintended results, the stakes for a plastic surgeon are incredibly high. Like most well-regarded people in their field, it all comes down to practice and expertise. It also helps to keep a cool head facing complex problems.

If a patient comes to him because of a botched breast job, the complex revision surgery needed to fix it can be intimidating. He has to dissect what was supposed to happen, where things went wrong, and if they can be rectified. Whether a patient comes to him for a simple fix or whole-body contouring, his practice is built around his ability to tackle it all.

When it comes down to it, he has no regrets about his ambitious range of services. It’s his privilege to give people the look they’ve always wanted, which often means going above and beyond. It’s the smile on their face that Dr. Chacon thinks about when he’s working. Nothing is more rewarding than helping people feel better about themselves. The better he is, the more patients can count on him for however many types of procedures they need.

A Lifelong Process

Dr. Carlos Chacon is from Tucson, born to immigrant parents from Mexico. After living in California for many years, he’s proud to have taken advantage of the opportunities in the state. After serving as Chief Resident of the University of California San Francisco Division of Plastic Surgery and completing an advanced fellowship in aesthetic surgery in Los Angeles, he’s earned his reputation for being one of the best-trained physicians in his field.

Offering full-service plastic surgery in the Golden State turned out to be a gateway for him, one he was happy to walk through whenever he had the opportunity. Not only has he built a successful practice, but he’s also played a role in shows like Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition for ABC. After patients lost nearly half their body weight, they looked to remove some of the skin left over.

When he thinks about what it means to branch out into cosmetic surgery, he considers the goal a lifelong process. He looks forward to building a lasting relationship when patients come to him. It’s the same approach he takes to learn new skills. To him, everything is about getting the fundamentals down pat and then building up from there.

Dr. Carlos Chacon and Plastic Surgery

Offering full-service plastic surgery is bold, but it fits the doctor’s larger philosophy. No matter what Dr. Carlos Chacon at Divino Plastic Surgery chooses to do, he delves into it until he can master the terrain. It’s one reason his patients and colleagues trust him to succeed where others fail.
