Nafeel Ahmed, CEO and founder of Ibiza Bar and Lounge, has had over ten years in the business and is still maintaining momentum, even after the six-year anniversary of this passion project and restaurant. After completing a million-dollar renovation, Ibiza Bar and Lounge is back in the full swing of Atlanta’s bustling nightlife.
As 2022 comes to close, Ibiza Bar and Lounge, located in downtown Duluth, Georgia is hosting several upcoming events. The venue, having first launched in 2016 as a nightclub for private events and parties, maintains a steady stream of celebrations which includes a New Years Masquerade Ball, which will also double as a charity event. A portion of the proceeds of this party will be going toward local homeless relief foundations.
This is just one of the many charitable events that Nafeel will be hosting at Ibiza Bar and Lounge. The CEO expresses that he hopes that by organizing charity events around his holiday celebrations, he will be able to bring in more revenue for the organizations.
In addition to the philanthropic spirit Nafeel hopes to introduce his customers to his passion for health and wellness. With the new year quickly approaching, people tend to shift their resolutions and goals toward their physical fitness goals. Nafeel and his team at Ibiza Bar recognize this desire and work to fulfill it.
The bar is introducing a new section to its menu in 2023, which will feature more health-conscious choices. Some of these options will include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free meals. Their updated menu will serve as the first step to maintain inclusivity to all diet types and extend its health and wellness goals to its clients.
In addition to the Bar’s new menu options, Ibiza will begin hosting ZUMBA nights, where licensed ZUMBA instructors will come to the venue and offer lessons. These fitness-focused evenings will happen throughout January and February. Ibiza Bar and Lounge hopes to make this added event an annual occurrence, as the new years continue to roll.
Nafeel has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Marketing and business became a passion for him while he was in high school. Even before social media, Nafeel worked hard to achieve his goals. Nafeel’s vision was to make a place that could be a top party destination in Atlanta, where people could relax and enjoy quality food and atmosphere. Reflecting on his past, Nafeel remembers how he never wanted to miss the chance to make his friends and family members feel amazing on their special days, and so in turn, Ibiza Bar hosts birthday events for each sign of the astrological zodiac chart.
Ahmed managed to pave his way to success, despite not having the approval and support from his father on his career choice. Nafeel and his family hail from the Middle East and are Muslim. His father was disappointed from the very beginning and refused to support his career choice.
“Promoting nightclubs, being in the company of women, and consuming alcohol were all against his cultural and religious convictions,” explains Nafeel. “It was not the life he wanted for me, so he was really against it from the start.” Despite these hardships, Nafeel overcame the judgements and self-doubt and decided to embark on the journey of opening his very own lounge bar in downtown Duluth.
As the business grows, Nafeel aims to bring Ibiza Bar and Lounge closer to the restaurant style business model by offering catering. This process will begin in 2023 and is the first of many steps in building a brand from the dream he started in 2016.
Nafeel attributes a portion of his success to his ability to recognize opportunity and take risks when the need arises. Additionally, he owns a marketing social media management company where he helps other businesses expand using one of the most powerful marketing tools.
“Ibiza had its success, not only because there is always a great vibe in there, but because of the work that my team and I put in on the social media aspect to expand our reach.”
