Meet Alejandro Lovera, Lead “Matchmaker” at the Tinder of Construction

Matchmaking websites have been quite a rave as of late, as millions of people use apps like Tinder to find people with whom they can match up. But what if that model could work for more professional relationships? That’s what Alejandro Lovera had in mind when he co-founded ManyBuild, a mobile app and web service that helps contractors and developers pair up online.

Alejandro is no stranger to the construction and real estate industry. He belongs to a family of contractors and architects in Aruba Island and owns a construction firm called Asterion Construction. He started the business with his brother Wyatt and cousin Fernando. Together, the three would learn how to identify, underwrite, acquire, and remodel residential and commercial properties and flip them for a profit. Since they started, the company has turned in up to seven digits in profit from construction contracts, complete building do-overs, and fix and flips all across Denver, Colorado, where they currently reside.

But through the years, Alejandro would come to notice some critical problems in the industry. Mainly, his company struggled to find reliable contractors and workers who could get the job done with little concern. Through that observation, Alejandro would decide to dive into the tech space and create mobile software.

Today, that decision has led him to a partnership with cofounders Stefan Norton (Chief Operations Officer) and Peter Taggart (Director of Engineering) and the birth of ManyBuild, an online application that matches builders and developers. There’s no trace of complexity to the app experience. Builders and developers can go through a list of companies and points of contact on the other side of the building supply chain and connect with them. After that, the two parties can exchange details, build rapport, schedule a site visit, create job proposals, negotiate, close the deal, and settle accounts all in one place.

ManyBuild aims to be the most reliable construction application in the world. It shoots for this goal by providing a seamless experience for developers looking for reliable jobbers and workers looking for another channel to acquire clients.

By starting and scaling ManyBuild with Stefan and Peter, Alejandro hopes to change the construction industry by ushering it from the industrial to the digital revolution. He’s a firm believer in the cruciality of the user experience as he and the team continue to aim for maximum usability. The app has two languages, Spanish and English, reaching a more extensive demographic and providing job opportunities to Latino community members. Some of the first clients of ManyBuild were people from the Hispanic community. The company has not veered far from that path as it looks to make that a core aspect of the business.

Alejandro and the team maintain that more will come from ManyBuild as they now test new core functionalities that will make the business side of contractorship more seamless. ManyBuild continues to uphold a genuine commitment to customer experience and also makes its membership fees low enough to be worth every penny when you join the curated community.
