Oscar Stone’s entire family was involved in the gold industry. Although he had some doubts at first–ultimately he decided to pursue the same career path his parents had. He got involved in the family business at the ripe age of 20, and never looked back.

Gemologist, Oscar Stone, is in the jewelry business. He is accredited by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) which simply means he has certified knowledge in gemology. He understands gems, but more importantly, diamonds. Stone decided to pursue gems rather than sticking with gold, mainly because he thought it would be more profitable. He was right and has uniquely hit success.

Oscar Stone specializes in customization. He helps his clients create high-end customized jewelry that speaks volumes to who they are. Stone “ensures a seamless transition from fantasy to reality” for his clients. He takes pride in knowing he is helping his client’s visions come to fruition. Customers trust Stone because he takes the time to get to know them, and Stone understands the business. “Not only do you need to understand the tangible product, but you need to understand the culture of the industry,” Stone said.
Oscar Stone is no novice in this industry. His parents immigrated to the United States in the 1980s. They started their gold business, and it has expanded since then. Stone was immersed in the business as a young person, and he picked up on skills that are so important to running a business, like understanding his customers. His customers sense this deeply which keeps them coming back and gets new ones interested. Stone’s thorough knowledge of his customers and ultimately his business will keep monetary success in his back pocket.

Oscar Stone isn’t in this business only for the money, though. He eventually wants to pursue philanthropy. To Stone, personal success means “being able to help those less fortunate [than] you.” First, though, he needs to focus on his business so he can eventually help those in need. He is opening a larger store in the foreseeable future which will add to the stores he already has open throughout New York City. He plans to continue running his stores just as he has–with honesty and integrity.
