The present war between Ukraine and Russia needs better understanding than simple critical analysis based on each other’ s capabilities.

Ukraine as an independent country is sovereign republic with its Right upon the resources and development of its citizens. It has every right to put forth its natural resources for sale and use the monies received for the welfare and development of its citizens and country.
Ukraine had been a technically advanced republic even amongst the Soviet Union. The Chernobyl incident reminds us of its technical capabilities, though the accident has made devastation, it also depicts the where with all to install a nuclear power in those days.

Ukraine has more agricultural lands and was a contributor to the food security of the erstwhile Soviet Union. Russia as a bigger country should have maintained excellent rapport with Ukraine for all its needs. The petroleum reserves which is the point of contention for this conflict leading to war would have been converted into point of strength for both the nations.

Russia rather than building up strength has landed into war with sanctions from across the world. The big brother must be righteous and generous rather than being just egoistic with the mighty military power. The military power is good and necessary when you have to deal with an enemy of your size, but using at neighbors who could be your friends is a misuse.
Russia rather than leading discussions and building an economic strategic approach has started acting with might and belittling the younger brothers.

This attitude is causing colossal damage to the region and if it expands to whole world leading to a third world war which is detrimental in the present nuclear installations age. Atleast good sense prevail upon Putin now and put interest of mankind as Supreme than personal interest and the world a better place to live.
