In today’s world, humanity is a term that has ironically become extinct from humankind. People have become so engrossed in the pursuit of fame and riches that they disregard any consequences their search might have on their fellow man. The ever-increasing greed in the hearts of man has brought a drastic change in the demeanor of the majority. There is no longer a conscience that helps a person debate between right and wrong. People will witness acts of injustice and ignore them like they were nothing. However, there are some kindred and brave souls left in this world that will face any injustice head-on. They speak the truth as it is and are not afraid of its negative impact on them. A great example of such a personality is K.C. Fox.
K.C Fox hailed from Shreveport, Louisiana, and was born on 16th March 1977. Being an African-American female, Fox had seen first hand the troubles and sometimes dire situations people of color had to face daily. But it was not until her educational career led her to the University of North Texas from where she earned her Bachelor’s in Applied Arts and Science. After entering the University, Fox’s horizon widened considerably, and she got exposed to the crimes against humanity, people of color. The general public was usually subjected to in plain sight. This was the point at which Fox had decided her future goals.
From the very start, Fox had a very loving personality and had compassion towards her fellow man, which made her decision to choose a future profession very easy. She chose to dive into the media and activism field that could empower her to get her thoughts of truth and justice through to the masses while leveraging her confident personality to her profit. She had always loved to be up-to-date with the latest occurrences and news, and now she was set steadfast to be the one to bring that news to the public. In her journey towards making justice equal for all people, she decided further to increase her understanding of the world through academics. She successfully earned degrees in Journalism, Emergency Management, Non-profit Management, film, telecommunications, radio, broadcasting, real estate, and criminal justice.
K.C Fox was always a woman not afraid of any dangers or perils. The testament to this fact was her nine-year military career in the United States Air force. She served as the primary combat training Sergant of communications for the 506 Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron. Later on, she also served as the primary assistant to the Battle Captain in combat operations. Her discipline and valor awarded her the honor of being named” Top instructor” during her time at Ft Wolters Regional Center as a primary security forces instructor. Fox’s personality was immensely impacted by her time in the Air Force. Her military career groomed her leadership skills and increased her sense of service to the people of this nation.
Soon after her studies got finalized, she started her work as an activist. Her continuous efforts concentrated on the social misconduct and brutalism occurring on people of color and women. As time passed on, she became a well-known advocate for black women around the nation. She served on the “National Coalition of 100 Black Women” as the chairperson of The Civil Rights and Citizens training committees. K.C sharp eyes and great instincts made her a vital part of many cases of civil and women rights. Fox believed in working for a better tomorrow but preparing the younger generation for any rough paths that they might come across. This led to the establishment of “The Lady General Foundation,” which was a female leadership camp for girls of the ages 9-17.
Still wanting to get more people educated about the vile acts against humanity taking place in society, she decided to work for Tribune Media. She occupied the role of Director of Broadcast Technology and On-Air Operations. She also played the role of executive producer for the first-ever all-minority reality morning show. This experience would later become a vital contribution to her reputation as an ally of justice. Fox later then became a member of the “Roc Nations United Justice Coalition.” This group had one goal to raise awareness of social justice issues and promote the demand for reforms across many platforms and channels. Her efforts did not reach a halt just here. She co-founded the “Sisters of the movement.” This group was founded solely to demand that the policies and laws that are equal for all people regardless of gender or color be implemented.
K.C. is now working on obtaining her Master’s degree in Strategic Management from the prestigious Harvard University. She continues her work for the betterment of society even after being showered by praise and recognition. K.C Fox now has the fame anyone would want, but her endeavors will not stop. For her, all this praise is useless. Her goal is to create a justified society where everyone is important and all lives matter.
