There is no doubt that every student learns differently and has a preferred method of acquiring new information and synthesizing knowledge. For a long time, teachers have wondered how to personalize their lessons to better enhance the overall student educational experience.

Today, they may have found the answer: EdTech, otherwise known as education technology.

EdTech has been around for a while, but its prominence is rising, especially with the increase of remote teaching and learning over the past year and a half.

Kwasi Aggor works in the EdTech industry and he says that EdTech has the ability to transform the way we teach and learn. He also believes the technology is here to stay, and it’s a matter of deciding how we choose to incorporate this new technology rather than resist it outright.

According to Kwasi Aggor, EdTech does not replace teachers. Instead, it helps them personalize learning and lets them transition their role to that of a coach or facilitator. It also reduces the time they may spend planning and frees on their time that could otherwise be spent on higher value tasks.

Interactive learning technologies brought about by EdTech have the power to immerse students into new learning environments, leading to greater engagement and fulfilment.

Kwasi Aggor says EdTech also has the ability to gamify the learning environment, keeping students focused and coming back to educational material time and time again.

Overall, the point that rings true is that EdTech has the ability to personalize learning, and therefore makes learning more efficient and enjoyable.

Education technology has the ability to collect data and information about students and uses artificial intelligence to continuously improve the way it teaches students.

Through data collection and analysis, EdTech also has the ability to make suggestions about future career choices, learning abilities and more.

With this new information, teachers can now customize lesson plans and tailor education to individual students, rather than teaching entire classrooms in the same way. By utilizing new knowledge and insights from EdTech, teachers can also take into account individual student needs and learning styles.

Meanwhile, EdTech also has the ability to reduce the time that teachers spend on administrative tasks like lesson planning, preparation, form signing, ordering materials and more. By automating many of these tasks, teachers can get several hours back from their week which would have otherwise been spent on administrative tasks.

Kwasi Aggor says that this time can be directed towards personalizing education plans for students and spending more one-on-one time for mentorship and personal development.

“EdTech will enable teachers to foster one-on-one relationships with students,” says Aggor.

Kwasi Aggor says that EdTech software can also be used to conduct tests, assign work and submit assignments. The new technology even has the ability to assess the delivery and understanding of the course material across different subjects, scoring students in unique areas.

Due to the innovativeness and personalization capabilities of EdTech, Kwasi Aggor says that classrooms will become more interactive and students will get the opportunity to engage better in the areas of their choice.

“Every student is special and I am grateful to work in an industry that is committed to improving learning for all.”
