Studies have shown that athletes tend to be better focused and better prepared when provided with state of the art training equipment and facilities. Thus, a well-appointed training center like Greater Purpose Athletics ensures success to a certain point.

You don’t need to look too far to find gyms and training centers for the average person, but it takes a special kind of effort, attention, and dedication to stand out from the crowd. Jonte Wells has made this his mission to provide just that to young athletes with the creation of his multi-sport training facility, Greater Purpose Athletics located in Chicagoland.

Born and raised in the heart of Chicago, entrepreneur Jonte Wells has dedicated years to nurturing the needs of fellow young athletes, to excel at sports and beyond – in life.

Why Greater Purpose Athletics?

A training center is more than just a confined area with training equipment thrown in, it is a community of members that are on the same mission of physical and mental growth. It requires determination, resiliency, and commitment to the sport, their team, and themselves. The facility itself is defined by the people who make it a comfortable and empowering place to train that they otherwise would not have, and this only begins to scratch the surface of what makes GPA a top training destination.

Seasoned Coaches: Jonte Wells has successfully provided top training talent when it comes to coaches. With a dense athlete community in Chicago, having seasoned coaches is one of the top priorities that is evident from the moment you step foot on the court. One of the most telling aspects of the training center at Chicago is that trained sports medicine specialists ensure that injuries are responded to with immediate care in their dedicated ‘Rest, Recover, and Recharge’ area with expert Player Development Coach, Ray Tilman.

Incredible Courts: At the GPA, the need for open spaces to train has certainly not been forgotten, with the facility spanning over 12,000 square feet. With a full and half basketball court, weight room, and lounge, the training facility offers a spacious and comfortable atmosphere to develop their skills and overall player development.

Promising Future: Since its inception, GPA has produced some of the most successful players at the College level under the guidance of top coaches and professional athletes that make their way to the facility from time-to-time to share their love for the sport. Getting the opportunity to play with top athletes they have long admired, fuels their passion to new heights.

What sets GPA apart?

Every active athlete must be able to recoup after each game or training session. At Greater Purpose Athletics, the use of the recovery room ensures that there is a dedicated area to help the player understand the importance of recovery and make the time to do so. With a proper recovery strategy, athlete’s gain faster rebound time and ensures that the player stays at the top of their game on the court each time.

What does the future hold?

This is only the beginning for Jonte Wells and the value he is bringing to the Chicago community through Greater Purpose Athletics. Parents, students and community members can look forward to a top of the line and rewarding experience at the training center that is only just getting started. With new investments underway to reach an even larger community of promising athletes, the future for GPA members is nothing short of bright.
