If there is one thing Lina Mushcab does well, it’s wearing many hats. Born in Saudi Arabia, Mushcab has been working for decades in project management, facility management, business development, and space design planning. Her diverse range of experience and skills has positioned her as a multi-faceted professional, capable of taking projects to the next level. By 2013, she had already produced an impressive portfolio of projects from London to Norway, and across the Middle East. Now she is pursuing her passion and re-establishing herself as an independent Architecture and Design Consultant.

After earning her Bachelor’s in Architecture and Urban Planning from King Faisal University, Mushcab gained valuable experience working for the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in London, first as a Project Manager, overseeing the design and build of a new building for the embassy, and then as an Executive Advisor to the Cultural Attaché, advising on business matters related to building acquisitions, procurement, vender selection, and price negotiation.

Upon her return to Riyadh, Mushcab joined SNC-Lavalin to work on a variety of high-profile projects. From 2013-2015, she served as Project Manager for the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (KACWC) delivering consultancy services, and advising the client, Saudi Aramco, on the scope of the facility management, operation, and maintenance for its entire facility. She worked primarily on Ithra, an iconic building designed by the famous Norwegian architectural firm Snohetta, which stretches over 80,000 m2. The massive structure combines modern architecture with ‘rammed earth’, an older technique that uses compressed, natural materials from the region. In 2015, she served as the Director of Facility Management of KAPSARC in Riyadh. She worked with contractors to bring her vision to life. The iconic facilities of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), designed by notable British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, occupies 70,000 sq meters. Despite the massive scale of the project, working to elevate KAPSARC was a gratifying and successful endeavor for Mushcab.

Outside of the sphere of project management and design, Mushcab is also an author. In 2020, she published her first poetic memoir, ‘Where Love Takes Us’. Drawing from deeply personal experience, the book oscillates between poetry and prose, tracing the core relationships in Mushcab’s life and how love evolves in relationships over time.

Today, Mushcab is actively pouring all of her creative knowledge, international experience, and management acumen into her lifelong interest: architecture and design consultancy. As an independent consultant, she approaches each project with the utmost care. Working closely with architects, interior designers, and contractors, Mushcab creates harmony between the aesthetic and functional aspects of living and commercial spaces. Her role is to elevate a space beyond being simply functional by reviewing and improving everything from the furniture design, to the safety features, to the amount of natural light that comes into a space. In this current role, she has worked on villas across continents from Europe and Asia with a focus in the Middle East. Her unique process is flexible enough to be personalized for every client, but efficient enough to make sure that the outcome is consistently top-of-the-line. With all this under her belt, it seems as if there is nothing Mushcab can’t do.
