Self-image is a problem for a lot of people. Not everyone has developed that innate sense of confidence in how they look to have a positive self-image. This is unfortunate, as everyone deserves to be confident and comfortable in their own bodies.

Unfortunately, not everyone is able to find their true self-image as easily as others. But thanks to treatments like botox, it is not impossible, and with help of Skinly Aesthetics medical spa, it can even be somewhat easy and straightforward.

At its core, this is what Botox is for. It’s easy to think that it’s nothing more than a way for celebrities and public figures to get ready for the next appearance on TV or a photoshoot. But there are many other reasons behind why people choose to get treated.

How Appearance Impacts Confidence

Many of you probably already know how appearance plays into the level of confidence that you have in yourself. However, there are a lot of people who seem to miss the association between your image and how comfortable you are in your body.

Let’s imagine a scenario where you’re at a social gathering, during which you will be talking and mingling among dozens of individuals. If you have a small piece of food stuck between your teeth, you’re not going to feel comfortable socializing.

Not because the piece of food is preventing you from speaking normally, but because you’re constantly fearful of the person in front of you noticing it. By trying to hide it, you emphasize it and end up bringing more attention to it. Now the person you’re speaking with notices that piece of food stuck in your teeth.

Now let’s change this piece of food to a wrinkle or an age mark. In plainview, even the smallest things can have a major impact on how comfortable you feel when interacting with others. You’re constantly on the edge, thinking that they’re going to notice that little thing that always bothers you.

Chances are most people won’t notice it, but by trying to hide it, you’ll end up bringing more attention to it.

How Does Botox Factor Into All This?

That being said: what does Botox have to do with any of this? As a cosmetic treatment, Botox offers a set of solutions to the issues you have with your appearance.

Everyone has wrinkles or is going to get them in the future. There’s no way you can stop yourself from getting old. Many people are happy with their wrinkles and don’t see any problem with looking a little older. As they shouldn’t; aging is a sign of experience and wisdom, beautiful in its own ways.

But for those individuals who just can’t cope with the reality of wrinkles and saggy skin, there’s Botox. When injected into certain parts of the face, the botulinum toxin (Botox) is able to numb certain muscles under the face which are constantly contracting. These contractions are in turn responsible for all the wrinkles and ridges that form on the surface.

So by soothing them, you’re effectively diminishing the visibility of the wrinkles on the surface. You can still see them very faintly, but they’re nowhere near as deep and visible as they were before the injections. Unlike other treatments that pull or lift the skin to smooth out wrinkles, Botox works on a deeper level. This eliminates that bloated, sometimes puffy appearance that other cosmetic treatments sometimes leave behind.

If you look at some before and after photos of any cosmetic center, you’ll see a huge difference in how young and vibrant the face looks.

Why Botox Is So Popular

Because of how effective it is at making the face look naturally younger and more vigorous, many people who have trouble with their self-image consider Botox to be an easy solution.

While the effects of Botox are not permanent, they do last for quite a while. You can expect your face to look younger for 3 to 4 months following the treatment. This means that you’ll have to go to the clinic no more than three times a year, making it a temporary, but the lasting solution to a problem that many people have.

Another reason why it’s popular is because of how painless the procedure is. With only a few injections, there’s barely any pain or uncomfortable sensations, other than a very light sting that you’ll barely feel as a result of the numbing cream anesthetic. After the treatment there aren’t that many side effects to worry about. The most unusual sensation is the numbness which is to be expected considering the nature of the procedure. But even this doesn’t last that long and is easy to get used to.

Where You Can Find Botox

You read on the news about some celebrity or public figure leaving a clinic having recently been treated with Botox. Naturally, you start to think that the treatment is exclusively for movie stars and public figures who have the privilege of being able to afford it.

But Botox is actually a lot more accessible than you think, both in terms of locations and pricing. Keep in mind, that you won’t be needing treatments very often. So a single treatment is a three to four month investment into your appearance.

And in NYC, you can treat specific areas of the face for anywhere from $250 to $500. The average price may vary depending on where you live, but as long as you’re actively paying attention to the newest deals and convenient treatment plans in your local area, you’re bound to come across a good bargain.

Don’t let the paparazzi and celebrity news fool you into thinking that Botox is beyond your reach. Anyone who has ever doubted any part of their image or appearance has the opportunity to get Botox and hopefully find that little boost in confidence we all need sometimes.
