Sport is a popular pastime, a form of entertainment, and a way of maintaining one’s fitness. Basketball is among the most popular sports worldwide for how fun it is and its exciting fast pace. America has one of the most popular basketball leagues globally and inspires many to hold their own leagues and events. John H. Atkinson is one of those individuals whose love for the sport inspired him to start a league of his own through Top 3 Promotions.

John H. Atkinson is a basketball fanatic who enjoys creating and hosting basketball tournaments. He is aware that as people grow older, the opportunity to play the beautiful sport comes more scarcely. Atkinson wanted to see others lace up their shoes and get physically active on the court again, creating Top 3 Promotions to fulfill his vision.

The basketball enthusiast established Top 3 Promotions for everyone who loves basketball but does not have the time should get the chance to play again. Their mission is to provide people with the opportunity to stay active in life by bringing states together via the hardwood with competitive basketball and fellowship. The organization wants to reach young adults one jumpshot at a time.

Top 3 Promotions is a veteran-owned and operated organization. Headed by Atkinson, they look forward to facilitating a competitive environment that is still fun for their members and staff. The brand takes an ethical stance on many issues, including giving back to its communities through affordable fitness and recreation.

Since creating Top 3 Promotions, they have reached a point where they can move forward in establishing nationwide venues to allow their registered teams to compete vigorously throughout the year and compete for cash prizes. They are the only company that offers a state-wide three-on-three basketball tournament. Their goal is to bring any adult who wants to prove their worth on the hardwood and relive their glory days.

While basketball tournaments are not a new concept and events occasionally pop up, Top 3 Promotions stand out for being more than just a weekend event. They go beyond just scouring the local area and cover the state, looking to invite the best teams. The organization’s primary focus is on adults, but John Atkinson is also looking to reach out to the youth.

“In an age where our youth are more inclined to spend their day indoors playing video games,” John Atkinson said, “I want to show everyone it’s still fun to get out and be active. Let’s teach our youth the values of playing on a team and why competitive sports are good for motivating themselves to do better in both their personal and professional life. And for us adults, we still need to get out and be active!”

Top 3 Promotions is targeting a youth outreach in 2022. They are also set on establishing their brand as a household name in basketball, targeting tournaments in the lower forty-eight states in a few years. Additionally, John Atkinson foresees their national champion playing for a company like “Big3” or a joint effort with the brand, working together to expand the game.
