CEO and lead designer of Bungee Brand sneakers and clothing, Darrell Alston, believes in providing fashionable, unique and high quality footwear to the brand’s customers. His journey to becoming a sneaker designer is quite different from others.

Alston grew up in Philadelphia and recognized early on that he has talent for writing and performing rap music. He became famous but could not keep up with the rapper’s lifestyle.

Alston made certain terrible decisions related to money putting himself in a lot of risks. These decisions and choices led him to the prison. He was for 6.5 years. That’s where he realized he is meant for other things. He accepted his mistakes and put himself to exploring his talent of designing. People in prison praised him for his drawing and designing skills. He realized his potential.

During his rapping days he had a lot of interest in footwear and clothing. As a rapper he never wore the same sneakers to the stage twice. So even as a convict he spent most of his leisure time in sneakers designing.

Once he was out of the prison he first started a barbershop business and even started narrating his stories in programs held in TV, high schools and news. He also wrote articles in magazines and newspapers. He had no clue how to start his sneakers business at the start but later after talking to people and paying for the first order through his barbershop, his brand Bungee Sneakers was formed.

Now Alston has been running the business for the last 6 years ‘Bungee Brand’ and showing people every hardship is a lesson taught by life.
