Work For Passion Rather Than Money – Yik Chan On How He Manages To Fit In Multiple Roles

Entrepreneur Yik Chan’s journey despite being full of roadblocks, has been inspirational and learning—both for him and young entrepreneurs all around the globe. Founder of the YNC Academy and 4 different companies in various industries, Yik believes that working for passion rather than money has led him to become an entrepreneur, a business coach and a motivational speaker who contributes to society in a way no one else does.

During his days in University, his potential as an e-commerce entrepreneur took a hike when he decided to invest in his Virtual Assistant’s business. The idea of his first e-commerce venture was to support VA staff from villages in Philippines and provide them opportunities and amenities. Now, his company has a decent office, with over 20 staff. With these 20 staff members, Yik’s business is feeding 20 families with over 60 people.

“You are not here to make money, you are here to turn your passion into a profit making business, this is how you live your life; enjoyably. Otherwise you are just working for money. If you are working for money, the money will just leave you alone, but if you work for a passion, you enjoy doing it, the money will just come as a bonus”, Yik says when asked about how he manages multiple roles along with entrepreneurship. Apart from working for his passion instead of prioritizing money, Yik exerts that e-commerce is a business, not a get rich quick scheme, so what young entrepreneurs should do is focus on benefiting the society with their business.

Also a motivational speaker and a spiritual coach, Yik aims at uplifting the lives of a million people through the YNC Academy. Not just that— he is providing valuable guidance to young entrepreneurs through the YNC Entrepreneurs Club. “There are no courses to teach how to set up a business, how to do accounting or negotiate with businesses who treat you like kids”, Yik says on his idea behind the club.
