It was with the insurance company Movement Insurance that KJ VanDerwerken had started off his career. He has been working as an insurance agent for the past eight years, helping out people assessing their insurance needs and educating them about different policies. With his expertise over the years he has helped people buy new abodes, setting high benchmarks in his company.

In the past few years, he has been hitting milestones of new personal line premiums, going as high as $700,000 in the year 2016. While his clients are mainly people who want to purchase a new home or refinance their current home, he also assists loan officers and realtors. Having served over 3,100 clients with around 3,700 policies, VanDerwerken has produced a $3,200,000 book of personal lines business, which is an immensely large figure looking at the industry standards.

His remarkable work has won him several awards including two 30 Under 30 Business Awards and three Five Star Professional Awards. He was also honoured with the RISE Award this year.

VanDerwerken has ventured into digital space too this year as he started his own online vintage shop called Locker Room Clt with a friend. Already expecting a revenue of $120,000 in its very first year, it has added to the list of successful ventures of the millennial entrepreneur. As explained by him, the shop aims to provide the consumers with vintage sportswear and pop culture pieces gathered from different places, even flea markets and junkyards.

This is not where the young man’s business stops as he also owns a real estate holding company. Going by what VanDerwerken says, he has always been interested in the industry. So as soon as he had the funds, he bought his first property. He had set up his firm back in the year 2015 and he currently owns 5 properties in different areas of Charlotte, North Carolina. The properties are currently worth $800,000.

It is his passion and dedication that has brought him so far and he aims to keep working for the years to come and help as many people as possible.
