Matthew Sauvé dabbles with the horror genre with two major upcoming projects lined up for 2021

Any actor serious about their craft is not afraid to push the boundaries and take themselves out of their comfort zone. Acting is all about pushing the limits and not being afraid to explore new roles and new genres. A serious actor is always looking to grow, evolve, and excel. It drives critically acclaimed actor Matthew Sauvé to keep challenging himself and the audience.

The lead actor of One Night Stand has two major projects lined up for next year. They both mark his first foray into the hugely popular genre of horror. The genre has often proved to be genuinely challenging to many talented actors in the past. Inherently, horror movies usually revolve around extremely outlandish and fantastical scenarios. As such, an actor’s performance must be extraordinarily authentic and three-dimensional so the audience can believe and connect with the character. As Matthew points out, “Horror films might easily grab the audience’s attention, but it takes a lot more than that to keep them engaged and engrossed.”

Viewers who will watch the short film Endgame and mini-series Forgotten Corpses: The Confinement, will soon realize Sauvé’s range and talent. Sauvé, through his performances, has done his best to add authenticity and realism to the horror genre.

Sauvé, who has won over 40 best actor awards for his lead role as Travis in One Night Stand, is an actor who is always seeking to grow in his craft.  Forgotten Corpses, which documents a man and women’s journey in a post-apocalyptic world, and Endgame, a savage take on the dangers of the internet, allowed Matthew to keep it exciting for himself and his audience.

Matthew fell in love with the big screen from an early age. Sauvé still remembers the excitement of going to the movies as a young child like it was yesterday. “It left a huge impression on me,” admits the 41-year-old Canadian. Matthew added, “For a couple of hours, I’d be transported to another time and place. I felt the irresistible lure of the big screen from an early age, and I knew it’s what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.”

As someone who believes in the “less is more” approach to acting, and a big Ryan Gosling and Leonardo DiCaprio fan, Sauvé is a firm believer in adopting a multi-layered approach to the characters he portrays. “I want the audience to feel, understand, and identify with the character. I want these people on the screen to be as real to them as someone they’d meet in everyday life,” explains Sauvé.

With 2021 set to see Sauvé break into the horror genre and reach a wider audience, he is all set to raise the bar as he continues to refine his craft and push the envelope.
