Pastor Mike Signorelli urges People to Alter their Perception during the Health Crisis

The world is tackling a global health crisis, while people are doing their best to cope with the current situation. With a worldwide lockdown and millions of people in self-imposed quarantine, the world is waiting for the situation to improve. While we can’t control external factors, people need to rethink, reprioritize, and rewire their mid-sets to help the world beat COVID-19. Lead Pastor of V1 Church, Mike Signorelli, is leading by example as he shares his philosophy on how the battle against the pandemic begins in our minds and our homes.

Re-evaluate your perceptions

While COVID-19 pandemic is making people question their faith, Signorelli urges them to question their fears instead. In one of his recent Instagram posts, the introspective pastor says, “What if this was being turned around by God for your good? It’s time to reinvent yourself! You’re being repositioned. You’re being recalibrated. How are you trusting God through this?” While it might be difficult for most to think positively in these times, according to Signorelli, staying pessimistic will only make things harder.

Re-create the atmosphere at home

As a parent, Signorelli is well aware of the effect his attitude, fears, and strengths will have on his children. And this seems to give him the courage to stay hopeful and faithful. As he watches his children laugh, sing and wheel around a food cart because the Signorelli’s are able to make their children feel happy and safe, he’s reminded of, “how much more OUR Heavenly Father can create a space where we can laugh and sing.”

Re-imagine your sense of self

It is one of those times when it’s hard to know if what you are doing is right or enough. As parents, children, professionals, etc., everyone seems to be walking under a cloud of self-doubt. Signorelli encourages his members to believe in what they are doing, trust their decisions, and not be too hard on themselves.

Re-consider your priorities

As his youngest celebrated her 6th birthday, the Signorelli’s were four candles short. With fewer candles and no friends to cheer, the little one broke down but recovered in no time. He used this anecdote to encourage people to remember that “Joy is a fruit of the SPIRIT.” As most of us feel bad for making compromises, cutting short on celebrations and ceremonies, it’s time to sort out priorities. The presence of a loving family can make up for a few missing candles on a birthday cake, and these minor compromises should help us fill our lives with things and thoughts that really matter.

Reclaim your mind

The virus of fear spreads faster and causes greater damage than any other virus known to man. Its effects can be seen in the rise of pandemic confusion and uncertainty that COVID-19 has caused. According to the charismatic pastor, the only way out of this hellish fear is “in the direction of God.”

Once a higher thought reclaims the mind, perhaps it will be possible for us to see COVID-19 with revived courage.

Whether you believe that coronavirus is the work of the devil or not, it seems like the right time to turn to God for hope and to people for kindness.
