Not every adult in their early twenties can say they have a fair amount of success under their belt, for most people at that age are just getting into the workforce and are discovering their desired career path. Ken Conklin is one of the few exceptions, for he became the Marketing Director of a property management company at just the age of 19, then soon after he started his own venture, Gravel to Castle Accelerator, when he decided to sell marketing services online.

In the matter of just a few short years, he’s become a wildly requested speaker who shares with his audiences what’s currently working in the world of online marketing, and he charges quite a hefty fee for his one-on-one consulting. His company specializes in helping it’s clients implement frameworks and specific systems for making their businesses more predictable and scalable, and he has also done branding work for a number of well-known influencers, entrepreneurs, and even celebrities.

We were curious to hear what his best advice was for those looking to grow their business in 2020.

“Plant seeds every single day. The small actions that you take today are what create next year’s reality, so if you are smart, you’ll make sure that you are putting in the work today that you know will be worth having done so in the near future,” Ken told us.

Ken says he’s learned a lot of valuable lessons in the past two years that have given him clarity on what he needs to do in order to make sure that 2020 is successful for both him and the businesses his company serves. He talked about how important it has been for him to have realized how much time and energy his business had been demanding from him the past few years, and that his intention moving forward is to truly dial in his operations.

He not only wants to expand his clientele massively, he also wants to put all of his time and energy into what he considers is his zone of genius: marketing.

“I also think people are too patient when it comes to building their business, for I like to move fast. I sometimes cancel invoices when clients don’t pay within the time that they told me they would, and increase the price once they finally decide to begin. If they want to take their sweet time then that’s totally fine, but that usually tells me that we likely aren’t a good fit. I’m always move expensive the second time they decide to come around to finally move forward. My focus right now is acquiring new clients, serving them at the best level possible, and leveraging their success by creating case studies that increase our credibility. That’s the plan, and I’m executing it at the fastest speed possible.”

There are many different ways one can run their business, and Ken is convinced that his way of wanting to constantly get things done quickly is going to be very rewarding for him over these next few years. Given that he’s already been able to accomplish quite a bit to date, his ways may continue to work just fine for him.
