A photo on the passport and visa is mandatory and essential at it is your identification in a foreign land. It is extremely important to get a picture taken from a good place for it to be accurate and look professional. It is required to check the exact size that will be needed for the passport size photo.

Every country specifies certain things about the photo needed like what is the exact clothing to be worn while getting clicked. If there is a confusion about it, always prefer to wear over bright or dark colored clothing as they make the picture look professional. If you are still in doubt, you can click here to know about some easy guidelines to remember.

Also look out for the right makeup. Loud or overdone makeup spoils the picture and the visa can be rejected. If the photo is being taken at home make sure to give it professional level effect. Stay 4 feet away from the camera and give a normal facial expression or a slight smile.

Do not overdo with expressions and do not keep your mouth open and don’t shut the eyes or flicker the eyelids. It is important to check whether any shadow is enveloping the face or if the light is too bright. The background in the picture should be chosen with care. The Imaging Professionals in Walgreens and many drugstores offer photo taking services providing photos in an hour thus saving money and time.

At home, place a white background behind before getting clicked. The visa does not allow selfies. One can later upload it to the computer and then check it accurately. Any good software like Photoshop can be used to match the picture with the visa requirements.

Always keep an extra set of photographs in the bag to use to apply further for visas especially if travelling.
