Liverpool is looking to reach Manchester City‘s record by winning at Old Trafford. There is a 15 point gap between Liverpool and United, which means when Liverpool will look to strengthen their mark at the top of the table, United would need to win to move just above.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came into stress after losing to Newcastle United in United’s previous league game and it looked for a better chance in the league at Old Trafford. Solskjaer named back three for this game and Marcos Rojo is playing into the starting XI, as Axel Tuanzebe was injured in the pre-match warm-up. Aaron Wan Bissaka is ready to play after recovering from illness while Paul Progba continues with injury problems in the Premier League.
United came up with a plan of not allowing Liverpools a full backs space and time to cross the ball because most of the attacking mood of Liverpool come from their full-backs. They take up a position high and wide on the pitch and their wingers move infield to overload central areas. United’s formation did not permit Reds to do this. The back three means that United have always matched the Liverpool attackers when their wing-backs moved wide to match the Liverpool full-backs.
