After great cricket players, Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sri Lankan ex right arm spinner Muttiah Muralitharan will be the third Asian cricketer whose biopic will be made. Earlier, there were just rumors that Vijay Sethupathi will be playing Muthiah Muralitharan in the film. But now it is confirmed as true news when DAR Motion Picture along with another South Indian production house decided to start the project. The film’s shooting will start soon and the makers are scheduling 2020 for its release date. This is good news for Sethupathi and his fans, as he is known for his versatile acting talent.

According to the makers, the film is titled 800. The history behind this number is about 800 wickets taken by the spinner during his bright career as a cricketer. Most probably the film’s shooting will start in December 2019. It is a big-budget film and will be shot mostly in India, Sri Lanka, and England. Ramesh Bala, who is a South Indian movie trade tracker, has also confirmed the news on his Twitter account. The film is expected to be a big hit and soon it would be available at different Sri Lankan channels including Col3Neg.
