E Sports ushered the new era of games. It is the part of nearly every on-field game. Even MLB and NFL teams have fallen over themselves installing onsite fantasy lounges. And it worked, luring the younger generation.

The international Olympic Committee made transparent plays for youth. And it added skateboarding, surfing and three on three basketball in the next year’s Summer Olympics.

Fortnite world Cup is the biggest ever video game competition. It is here that the 16 year old Kyle Giersdorf from Pennsylvania won $3 M.

The question now we all face after the Fortnite World Cup is whether E-sports will take over the games? Next month, US Open takes place at the exact same place where Fortnite World Cup took place.

Fortnite is as big as it gets. Almost 250 million players registered to qualify online for the opportunity to play the world cup. Also, they played for over 10 weeks and there were 200 finalists from 34 different countries. Fornite World Cup handed out $30 Million in winnings, thereby transforming eSports. Because of the open format, players like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins failed to play the finals solo. Sadly he settled for a spot in Friday’s pro-am.

One of the players Aydan Conrad, who is a 20 year old from Ohio, expressed his thoughts. He said – “It was invite-only before, but I do like that the world cup is open qualifiers. Technically, everyone has a chance, and I really like that. I have never even met half of the people who qualified here, and its cool that they get the chance to come here and make at least $50,000. Some of these kids are 13 or 14, so that’s pretty nice.”

The Fortnite World Cup was well planned. It had a 3 day final, and a pro-am on Friday, and also duos competition on Saturday. And there was also singles championship on Sunday.
