Mochi Couture is the First Clothing Line Made Specifically for Cats

It is undeniable that pets in clothing look absolutely adorable. For centuries, dressing up dogs has been a popular practice. The trend dates back to the Egyptian pre-dynastic period and has since expanded. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about our feline companions, until now.

Headquartered in the fashion capital of the world; New York City, Mochi Couture has been gaining immense popularity for being the first clothing line made specifically for cats. They provide a full range of feline clothing and accessories from tank tops, to sweaters, to coats, and even festive costumes and collars! Their products target a wide range of customers; especially, owners of hairless cats (like Sphinx cats), surgery recovering cats that don’t enjoy wearing the dreaded “cone”, and cats with particular medical issues.

Mochi Couture is a women-led company that was co-founded by sisters after taking inspiration from their beloved cat, Chi. “Chi, our rescue cat, unfortunately suffers from a condition that causes her to obsessively lick her fur off. After several failed treatments and potentially harmful medications, we decided to try an alternative. In

order to help her control her urges, we designed a line of cat clothing made just for her. The idea worked out perfectly and it was pretty darn cute too! (MochiCouture.com).”

It has long been believed that cats do not like being dressed up. The founders of Mochi Couture challenge that idea. According to an interview with co-founder and CEO of Mochi Couture, “it’s not that cats don’t enjoy being dressed up. Just like dogs, cats all have their own distinct characteristics and qualities. Some cats actually really like being dressed up and others take some time to adjust to it. One of the main reasons for this misconception is because there is no brand in the market tailored specifically for cats. This usually results in cat owners purchasing dog clothing usually designed for smaller canine breeds. Since the clothing isn’t made for the unique structure of a cat, it’s immensely uncomfortable for them. Think about being fitted into a coat that’s three times smaller or larger than your size. Pretty uncomfortable huh? That’s why we designed Mochi Couture, to make adorable and comfortable clothing specifically for cats. Fashion should be accessible to every furry (or not so furry) companion because why do dogs get to have all the fun?”

Today, Mochi Couture has expanded its platform and ships worldwide. They even have a sizing guarantee policy, which makes them even more paw-some! Their dedication to welcome feedback and consistently improve makes it possible for them to provide a high level of comfort to cats everywhere and a market that people can trust.
