Matt Coleman said, I looked at Royce (Hamm) and said, ‘Royce, I’m about to win this.” The two Texas guards, Matt Coleman III and Courtney Ramey believe in dreams and on Tuesday night they manifested one of them. They came all prepared to give their best to their dream. Ramey said that he and Matt talked about the situation in the hotel room. He asked, “What would happen if he ever hit a game-winner?” He said he’d stand on the basketball scorers table!

Then the was Coleman coming barreling through as Texas trailed by two. Hamm screened OU’s Austin Reaves, and Coleman let loose an off-balance 3-pointer banking in just before time expired. Coleman said he didn’t call bank but he was sure it was good.
ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla screamed “Oh, my goodness! The season stays alive!,” to a national TV audience. There were crowd of 10,110 at the Lloyd Noble Center shouting “Texas sucks” but then they just stood there in silence, stunned with what happened. Coleman stated that passion, luck and a little of March made it all possible.
Coach Shaka Smart said that they were roundly criticized early in the season for not being tough or not playing for the right things and above all of not having heart. But this game he said is a great lesson for the guys as when they lose themselves in the fight and play for each other, then all of sudden they become tougher. That tends to work out better in the win-loss column.
Texas can go for the NCAA field of 68 during Saturday’s home finale against Oklahoma State. Coleman said that this game was a great step forward to make the dreams come true and now they have take care of business on Saturday.
