Inside the Career of Oded Napchi: From Broadcast Rooms to Global Digital Platforms

The career of Oded Napchi reflects major shifts in media and technology over the last three decades. Beginning as one of the founders and general manager of one of the most popular radio stations in his region, he has since navigated digital entrepreneurship across multiple technology waves.

Napchi started his career in media as a founder, producer, cable programming executive, and showrunner. He also played a key role in establishing pioneering children’s television programming. These initial roles gave him exposure to content creation, audience interaction, and the working requirements of broadcast media.

In 1999, he co-founded Valis, a pioneering mobile internet startup, together with his brother Ariel Napchi and partner Roni Golan. The company attracted venture attention and press coverage, developing location-based community services and securing partnerships with Vodafone and Orange before being acquired in 2003.

Despite the fact that Valis was formed at a time when technology companies faced high market volatility, it was one of the steps by Napchi as he ventured into the wider digital technology industry and demonstrated his commitment to creating innovative solutions.

Napchi later co-founded HIRO Media in 2005 with the same partners, serving as co-founder and CMO, and building the company into a global leader in video advertising technology. HIRO developed tools that could assist publishers in maximizing revenue creation on online video content, especially as internet streaming and digital video platforms gained popularity. Under its leadership team, HIRO appeared twice on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA list before being sold in 2020.

As a media executive and producer, Napchi learned to run creative teams, organize programming issues, and turn conceptual matters into structured media work. This background in content and communication contributed to his success in technology areas dependent on understanding audience behavior and media consumption.

His analysis on ad quality, smart TV evolution, and digital transparency has appeared in MediaPost, ExchangeWire, and MarTechSeries. He has written about the business model of smart TV, the quality of advertising, programmatic video, and how digital marketplace dynamics have changed. In the 2018 Predictions Series by MarTechSeries, he wrote about advertisement fraud, supply path optimization (SPO), ads.txt adoption, and the rise of the Amazon ads ecosystem.

Napchi is currently the CEO of Althimis, an AI-driven training, simulation, and mission-planning platform for defense and unmanned systems. The company’s Meetaverse product line provides 3D-immersive environments for virtual events, training, and collaboration.

Althimis focuses on training and mission planning infrastructure for the unmanned era. As for the Meetaverse product line, it provides interactive 3D virtual environments for professional purposes, offering virtual space for sales presentations, training, webinars, and corporate collaboration.

The platform represents remote working trends, online interaction, and virtual enterprise solutions, combining visualization technologies with business communication. Under Napchi’s leadership, Althimis identifies itself as a component of the larger wave of immersive, personalized online experiences.

Combined, the career of Oded Napchi represents a course developed through interaction with both creative and technological worlds.
