Latest Trends & Forecasts For eGaming

E-Gaming is a sector renowned for rapid growth and explosive change, predicting it to where it goes next is something of a double-edged sword. One main feature is that there is always a clear and obvious trend, easily identified by those that work in the industry. On the other hand, there is a pitfall of making bold estimations that can be easily undone by the new, innovative technologies and practices.

Anthony Ure, Head of eGaming at Isle of Man Department for Enterprise, has looked at several industry trends that even the most sensible e-Gaming commentator would struggle to talk about. In addition, Anthony has also touched on some of the challenges that the industry needs to overcome.

Blockchain Technology and eGaming

The intersection of eGaming with blockchain is one of the most exciting examples of modern, innovative integration of technology. By closely following the iGaming industry (like Woori casino 우리카지노), every other industry in the world has started to apply blockchain in various areas, from key information storage to peer-to-peer network. It’s starting to feel like in the next upcoming months we will see some tangible take-off for the use of the platform.

For eGaming, blockchain can play a crucial role in authentication, validation and transparency, where everyone is using the same, decentralised platform to record and transfer information. Anthony Ure expects in the future that blockchain applications will be used for player KYC (Know Your Customer).

However, there are still several challenges that must be addressed to. One example, currently there is a lack of technical understanding in what is the best way to implement blockchain technologies into old and inflexible computer systems. The industry must find ways of fixing this issue if they want to get the most benefits of a technology that carries enormous potential.

Adopting The VR/AR Technology

Besides VR and AR technology, there is also a number of technological innovations that will affect the player experience more directly. However, the excitement surrounding the adoption of virtual and augmented reality has gathered a real pace in the last year. The eGaming business thinks of a lot of creative ways to reach new markets and engage potential viewers.

For example, in recent years the VR technology is already added in the latest PC stations or gaming laptops. And, even the iGaming industry has created the first VR casino in New Orleans, where players can enjoy a game of archery. Besides this, there are also several games found on Steam that can be played by using a VR headset. And, this year a casino from France has launched a blackjack game that can be played only by using the VR headset. In the casino industry, it is just a matter of time when we will see a roulette game played on VR, or maybe there already is, on Steam.

Meanwhile, the gaming industry as we know, a lot of video game titles has adopted the VR technology. The market has become a competitive landscape where there is a huge pressure on companies to offer to players new, unique and authentic gaming experiences. There is no surprise that we see a race of how AR/VR technology can be creatively utilised.

Asian Market

E-Gaming, or usually everything about gaming, has a rapid growth in the Asian market and has been well documented over the past several years. This type of trend doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. The Asia Pacific region continues to grow exponentially because businesses battle to reach a young and passionate fanbase. This trend reflects the fact that for the next few years, the supply-demand in Asia will grow.

A talented player base, competitive domestic competitions and the accessibility of the digital world has created an audience that is extremely tech-savvy and immensely passionate. For the upcoming years, operators from all gaming industries that will offer high-quality products will stand to benefit from this demand, however, a certain degree of haste is also required. Infrastructure and operational systems may catch up now, but the sectors are highly competitive. It is just a matter of time when companies will battle for dominance over this region.

Last Words

There is no doubt that the technologies mentioned in this article will continue to shape the gaming industry, in both the short and long term. The most exciting thing about these developments is that each factor represents an exploration of a new frontier. Whenever is technological, geographical, commercial, each trend is a new challenge that needs to be navigated in its own way.

It is also up to the industry to find ways of embracing and adopting these innovations so they can continue to be dynamic and disruptive as possible. Their ability to adapt and change as an industry is something that they should be proud of. As an example, Anthony Ure is looking forward to the upcoming months, and he is increasingly optimistic about all the gaming sectors directions.
