For April Taylor, Founder of Jr. Moguls, life is about helping others to reach their goals.
“I believe you gauge success in life through the number of people you’ve helped,” Taylor says. “It makes me extremely happy to see the people I work with, the people I’m coaching, achieve their goals. It’s all about who you can help.”
Taylor is a multi-faceted entrepreneur, speaker, and financial coach who has empowered families nationwide by providing tools for financial literacy, mindset transformation, and business development. She launched the Jr. Moguls platform to cultivate the next generation of confident, business-minded leaders.
“Many people don’t have the tools and support they need to raise children who are well-rounded, confident, and successful,” Taylor says. “Jr. Moguls provides that for them, drawing from the wisdom I received from my family about financial literacy and the experience I had passing that wisdom on to my own children. It’s a catalytic course that shows parents how to raise confident, resilient, creative, successful, and happy kids.”
Building a long legacy of entrepreneurship
Taylor grew up surrounded by entrepreneurs. Her mother and grandmother — who owned personal care homes, while the former also owned and operated a Day School for over four decades — introduced her to the concepts she shares through the Jr. Mogul’s platform early in life.
“I watched my grandmother run her care homes, turning her passion for caring for people into a thriving business,” Taylor shares. “It was an environment that inspired a lot of confidence in me, dispelling the fears that hold people back from pursuing their dreams and being successful.”
As Taylor launched her own businesses, beginning with a paper route she ran with her brother, she experienced firsthand the power of the concepts she had learned from her family. She saw how her work led to profits, just as she had seen with her grandmother’s business efforts.
When Taylor became a mom, she committed to imparting to her children the same financial lessons she had learned. Becoming a single mom made it more challenging for her to carry out her mission, but she ultimately succeeded in raising two entrepreneurial children — a daughter who is a six-figure earner and a son who is a seven-figure earner.
“My goal was for my kids to be better than me — to be happier, more independent, and more successful than me,” Taylor says. “I supported them in every way I could, listening to them, showing them that confidence matters, and teaching them that entrepreneurship was important.”
Inspired by her children’s success, Taylor set out to find a way to share her life-changing lessons on finance and entrepreneurship with other kids. She created the Jr. Moguls platform for families to tap into those lessons.
Bringing together financial and behavioral skills to empower families
The guidance Taylor provides flows from a unique professional background. She is a licensed financial coach in over 20 states and holds a Master’s Degree in Human Services, which provides her with a deep understanding of human behavior, success psychology, and the barriers to high performance.
“My Human Services degree helped me understand that people, behaviors, underlying factors, and environment all play a role in human development, motivation, and the psychology of change,” Taylor explains. “It allowed me to see firsthand the limiting beliefs and practices that exist in the area of money, business, and mindset. Additionally, my financial licenses provided me with practical knowledge of insurance, investments, financial planning, and budgeting. The Jr. Moguls curriculum draws on both of those areas to deliver instruction that is engaging, from my heart, financially sound, and life changing.”
One of the focal points of the Jr. Moguls platform is breaking financial cycles that hold families back. Taylor has seen how limiting beliefs and self-doubting mindsets parents have adopted are passed on to their kids, keeping them from achieving their potential.
“Kids and parents must hear that lack does not have to be a way of life, but that they can choose something different and attain it,” Taylor says. “Money management is only the surface of the Jr. Moguls movement. At its heart, it is about mindset, entrepreneurship, and legacy.”
Inviting families into a new financial mindset
As families journey through the Jr. Mogul platform, they will learn about what Taylor calls the Mogul Mindset. While understanding practical entrepreneurial skills is vital, she believes true success is driven by your mindset.
“Mindset is everything,” Taylor explains. “Jr. Moguls teaches kids to have a resilient mindset that inspires them to get back up when they are knocked down. It shows that obstacles are not setbacks but setups to get you closer to achieving your goals.”
Taylor’s Jr. Moguls platform captures the lessons that have driven her family’s success and makes them accessible to others. It’s a proven formula for teaching financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills that sets families on a path to financial freedom.
“Watching my children grow into well-rounded leaders who are confident, kind, independent, and generous is my greatest win in life and one of my biggest smiles,” Taylor says. “We all want our children to be happy, fulfilled, and thriving. Seeing the apple of your eye grow into a full apple tree is absolutely amazing. What I’ve seen in my kids is proof that when we intentionally pour love and learning into our kids, we can build change agent leaders who have what they need to succeed.”
