The state of Yucatán has been making intense efforts in collaboration with local municipalities to generate new tourist attractions statewide to help tourists enjoy various activities during their visit. Many new watersports activities have been introduced to the state and a presentation to give information on this subject was recently made at the Port of Progreso.

In order to give excellent marine experiences to tourists, over 100 boats for touring along the Yucatecan coast, along with recreational fishing or snorkeling have been introduced by the tourism department of the State of Yucatán. At the El Corchito or Chuburna Reserves, experiences for kayaking and paddle boarding are offered along with delicious ceviche snack. Tourists can also take kiteboarding lessons and enjoy new attractions including Flyboards as well as Jet Skis at Progreso Beach. The tranquil waters of the Yucatan coast allow people to take part in different watersports activities throughout the year.

A couple of tour buses in the state capital Mérida has been introduced by the tourism company Grupo Movility ADO in collaboration with SEFOTUR. During the bus tours to new tourist attractions, traditional food such as salbutes, papadzules and panuchos along with drink such as ramon and lime water with chaya will be offered to tourists.

Due to these initiatives of tourism promotion, following the inauguration of Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, Yucatan has seen a rise in the number of monthly tourist arrivals by the double digits. And it has simply become possible due to the implementation of successful tourism promotional strategies by the tourism department of the State of Yucatán along with the tourism private sector.
