Every successful business begins with the kernel of an idea. The concept may spring to mind during a brainstorming session or materialize while visiting a favorite place. Sometimes, entrepreneurs generate their most creative ideas in the shower. Regardless of the source, dreaming up a new business is an exciting prospect with limitless possibilities. This is a concept that serial entrepreneur Miki Agrawal knows all too well, and frequently speaks upon.
Surge of Small Business Start-ups
Not surprisingly, the United States saw a remarkable increase in small business start-ups in 2020. In fact, the United States Census Bureau reports that in 2020 new business applications increased 96.3% year-over-year. The new business application numbers have also remained high throughout the first three quarters of 2021.
This notable increase in small business start-ups was partially a result of 2020’s COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. Often mandated to stay at home, aspiring entrepreneurs had plenty of time to brainstorm (and act upon) innovative new business ideas.
After the initial flash of inspiration, however, an aspiring business owner often wonders how to navigate the long process of transforming their creative idea into reality. Without a clear path to follow, it’s easy to become discouraged and let that brilliant concept fall by the wayside.
The Miki Agrawal-Mindvalley Roadmap
Fortunately, successful social entrepreneur Miki Agrawal has stepped in with a solution. This wildly creative businesswoman has forged a learning partnership with innovative personal development company Mindvalley.
Using Mindvalley’s popular virtual platform, Miki Agrawal will present her seven-part “Zero to $100 Million” Program for launching a business.
One of Mindvalley’s new Quests, this engaging experience will provide benefits for entrepreneurs of every level. In her own unconventional style, Miki Agrawal will present an easy-to-follow universal template for creating, launching, and promoting a brand. The template’s steps are applicable to every industry and type of business.
Miki Agrawal’s “Zero to $100 Million” Quest
Miki Agrawal will lead students on a journey that begins with idea visualization and flows naturally into product development. Building an effective team is also important. A talented supporting cast can help to streamline the process and minimize the chances that the entrepreneur will become overwhelmed.
Next, Miki Agrawal emphasizes that an entrepreneur should project authenticity in every aspect of the business. Advertisements, social media posts, and other messages should reflect a passion for the company’s mission and sincere respect for its audience.
Next, Miki Agrawal presents her bold, brash marketing game plan. Throwing caution to the winds, she lays out the exact strategies she used to successfully market Thinx and Tushy, her two innovative (and disruptive) brands.
Desirable media exposure can help to tell the brand’s story. Miki Agrawal shares insights on getting the word out while maintaining the authenticity that sets the brand apart.
Many start-ups face financial challenges that can limit or even derail their plans entirely. By finding enthusiastic (and committed) investors, an entrepreneur can likely obtain the resources necessary to develop their business idea. Miki Agrawal presents her pitch strategy designed to get results.
Finally, Miki Agrawal emphasizes that building a community around the brand helps to create an ever-widening circle of influence. Word of mouth, social media, and other strategies can engage listeners and viewers and help turn them into customers.
Free Masterclass Previews the Program
To whet potential students’ appetites for the “Zero to $100 Million” Quest, Miki Agrawal has created a free 75-minute masterclass. In this highly engaging session, she shares her formula for building successful brands without extensive resources or advanced degrees.
Next, Agrawal pivots to her audience. She challenges them to ask three fundamental questions that will provide clarity on the business’ direction. Concurrently, she offers four proven “acid test” criteria that help to determine a business idea’s market viability.
Capital is the lifeblood of every small business. However, few entrepreneurs enjoy making endless phone pitches and giving presentations to potential investors. Miki Agrawal shares her first-person experiences on raising much-needed capital in unconventional ways.
Even highly successful business owners have experienced rejection on occasion. Rather than sinking into the depths after the word “No,” Miki Agrawal shares her tips for turning this seemingly negative word into a motivational tool.
Well-crafted publicity and public relations campaigns are an ideal way to tell a target market about a new product. These low-budget methods have far-reaching benefits, and they do not depend upon easily discarded press releases and voicemails to media contacts. Miki Agrawal also reveals her personal strategy for getting the maximum product or business exposure.
A Passion for the Mindvalley Partnership
Miki Agrawal freely shares her enthusiasm for the Mindvalley “Zero to $100 Million” Program. The collaborative Mindvalley partnership enables her to realize a longtime personal goal on a platform that extends to the far corners of the world.
“I have always been fascinated with the process of discovery, invention, and rapid improvements and my goal in life is to create products that contribute to a better society and improve the lives of as many people as possible,” said Agrawal.
“Mindvalley has given me an incredible opportunity to help inspire and mentor people who are eager to change the world, one idea at a time. I know this specially-designed Quest is going to inspire the creation of hundreds if not thousands of social-conscious businesses around the world,” she concluded.
Miki Agrawal’s Entrepreneurship Journey
Miki Agrawal’s transition to a successful social entrepreneur didn’t happen overnight. In retrospect, each of her business opportunities presented itself when she was displeased with some part of her life. By listening to her intuition, and taking the leap, she has created three thriving businesses (with more on the way).
Agrawal gained a foundation for her entrepreneurial odyssey by completing a conventional business school education. While working in New York City as an investment banking analyst, she was profoundly shaken by the events of 9/11.
Like many others, Agrawal was driven to reassess her life choices. First, she jumped into the professional soccer world, pursuing a career with the New York Magic. After injuries forced her to the bench, she began working as a video producer.
WILD Gluten-free Pizza Restaurant
Unfortunately, the video production job’s extended work hours and unhealthy on-set meals were not conducive to a healthy lifestyle. Instead of complaining, Miki Agrawal devised a solution.
In metropolitan New York City, and with no restaurant experience, she launched a gluten-free, farm-to-table pizza eatery named WILD. Opened in 2005, this innovative restaurant’s menu featured only healthy, fresh ingredients. Today, Miki Agrawal’s business partner operates WILD, which now has three New York City locations.
The Thinx Period Underwear Solution
In 2008, Miki Agrawal’s dissatisfaction with available menstrual products spurred her to develop Thinx period underwear. Since then, the company has introduced a related product line. Thinx also supports Ugandan schoolgirls’ educational opportunities by helping with reusable pad donations.
The TUSHY Attachable Bidet
With her disruptive spirit in high gear, Miki Agrawal took on the toilet paper manufacturing industry. Thoroughly dissatisfied with the little squares’ poor performance and environmental impacts, she decided that an easy-to-install bidet toilet attachment would provide a solution to both issues.
Hence, Miki Agrawal designed TUSHY, an affordable device that brings the bidet’s widely accepted hygiene advantages to individual homes. TUSHY gradually gained ground in the United States marketplace, and the product’s sales took off during the 2020 toilet paper shortages. Today, TUSHY continues to sell its products on the company website, and retail distribution is planned for the near future.
Miki Agrawal’s international travels have made her aware that substandard hygiene conditions still exist in many parts of the world. To improve the quality of life in numerous Indian communities, TUSHY partners with Samagra to fund hygienic latrines where they are needed most.
Miki Agrawal’s Evolution to Published Author
Each of Miki Agrawal’s successful business ventures reflected her disruptive mindset and entrepreneurial spirit. Looking back, she realized that she wanted to share those experiences and insights with other aspiring business owners. Her two published books (with a third waiting in the wings) are the fruits of that inspiration.
Do Cool Sh*t
Miki Agrawal’s first book carries the official title of “Do Cool Sh*t: Quit Your Day Job, Start Your Own Business, and Live Happily Ever After.” This 2013 business start-up guide is written for entrepreneurs who want to travel off the beaten path. The volume lays out Agrawal’s bold visions and unconventional strategies to transform them into reality.
Disrupt-Her: A Manifesto for the Modern Woman
Miki Agrawal’s second book, released in 2018, delves into the finer points of disruption in different areas of life. In “Disrupt-Her: A Manifesto for the Modern Woman,” she examines 13 parts of life that are ripe for disruption.
Topics include purpose, money, and career, among others. After thoroughly analyzing each area, she provides guidelines on how women can disrupt each one.
