Farhan Majid, a young professional tech entrepreneur, is making business moves that are also major, important environmental efforts. He merges the archetypes of environmental activists and technological businessmen to be a force of good in the world. He has always had an interest in anything and everything technology-related and was also consistently the go-to person if something wasn’t working (tv, phone, laptop, etc). Farhan is pairing his interest in technology with his business degree from James Madison University to start new companies.
When he moved to Los Angeles in 2017, Farhan found himself having to restart his entire foundation again which put him outside his comfort zone and forced him to grow once again. He ran with this and looked at the harsh things like the abundance of waste that was overflowing onto the nearby intersections and streets when he visited a local recycling center in his city. He knows we are running out of livable space on Earth and time if we continue to do things the way they are now, so Farhan is focusing his attention and actions toward solving this issue.
Farhan founded Greens Enterprises based on the principles of reducing waste and leveraging alternatives for single-use plastics. They are committed to reducing single-use plastic and styrofoam disposables by replacing them with fully compostable, high-quality products that customers love, and continue to provide the best value possible while giving back to the community and to our climate stability with every sale. Farhan is showing a pristine example of how we can harmonize the industrial landscape with our natural environment to find a happy middle ground – the best of both worlds.
Keeping up with the times comes very naturally for Farhan as he aligns his purpose with his action-oriented work. Every time he has been disillusioned or ended a business venture or a job, there has always been another opportunity that has presented itself prior to him terminating the previous one. The new venture has always propelled Farhan to grow exponentially as a person and expand his skill set, whether it is in the same industry or a completely new business idea. His growth mindset and open-mindedness make it possible for him to overcome challenges and blocks that tend to stump most others.
One of his biggest personal challenges has been keeping a strict schedule and not becoming scattered with all the ideas and revelations he is working to manifest. With practice, his intentions have coalesced into amazing projects and businesses. Farhan divulges about working for a very early stage startup; “Failures are honestly where I have learned the most because they taught me how not to do something.” Through this experience, he learned how to clarify and refine his role and objectives.
Being raised by his immigrant parents inspired Farhan and taught him about what it takes to be adaptable and successful in a worldly way. Seeing their hard work firsthand creates a burning desire for Farhan to keep moving forward and pursuing his goal of retiring them as quickly as possible. Change has always been a persistent teacher in his life, so Farhan does Cherish the Struggle, as they say. He is motivated by the vision he has of how things can be improved, and he mobilizes people to cooperate for the good of their community with ease. Farhan has amassed a professional network of exceptional people over the years that he can count on.
Connecting with like-minded individuals and companies is always a great pleasure and inspiration for Farhan Majid. In recent years, he has launched three businesses, worked as a project manager for multiple mobile applications, worked for three software services companies as a consultant and enterprise customer success manager, and learned to trade the foreign exchange market. The magic of Majid is his gift of bringing structured balance into form.
