We’re finally starting to approach that time in humanity where we no longer live under the linings of stubborn taboos. For instance, the cannabis use that once was kept secret from even close friends and family has now become widely accepted, almost, on a worldwide level.

One of the best parts of medical cannabis is that it’s a completely natural form of medicine, you can even get marijuana seeds and grow them yourself at home.

So, if you’re curious about trying this magic plant for medical purposes, or perhaps if you already have, here’s a guide to making your own CBD oil.

To make your own CBD oil you’ll need only a couple of things you’ll be able to find at home or at the nearest store: 1 cup of coconut or olive oil, 7 grams of weed buds, a cheesecloth, and a glass dropper or air tight container. But before you proceed to make your own oil, make sure to check the summary of picks for Delta 8 THC cartridges.

The first step you’ll need to follow before you start making your own CBD oil is a process known as decarboxylation. Without getting into too much detail, this decarb process is basically to activate the compounds present in marijuana, such as CBD, in order to be able to indulge in its benefits.

To decarb your weed, you’ll need to spread them over a sheet of baking paper on an oven tray, separating them into smaller pieces. Set them in the oven at no more than 140 C for around an hour, and turn them around every now and then.

In the meantime, while your buds decarb, you can get into the preparation of the oil. Take a saucepan and set the heat on low as you place your cup of either coconut or olive oil inside. Stir occasionally as you allow the oil to heat up, and melt, in the case of the coconut oil. Once you’ve got the heated oil and your buds are already decarbed, throw them into the pan so that they’re completely covered in the oil.

Now, set the heat on the lowest possible and stir occasionally as you simmer the buds for at least 2 hours, although 6 is recommended.

Finally, once you’ve allowed enough time for the marijuana to blend into the oil, take the cheesecloth, set it over a bowl or mason jar, and let the oil strain. You don’t really want to taste or munch any herbs, do you? Let the cheesecloth sit for a couple of minutes, and once it seems like it’s done, you can press slightly on it to release some of the remaining oil, but not too much or you’ll be draining chlorophyll as well, which tastes, well, not too good.

Now you can put your CBD oil into a dropper, or keep it in an air-tight glass container or mason jar in a dark and cool room, or in the fridge. Keep in mind that CBD oil’s shelf life lasts about two months, which makes it about the perfect time to germinate your own autoflowering seeds and harvest them for the next badge of your own homemade CBD oil.

If the question “will CBD oil get me high?” has been wandering in your head all through this article, the short answer is no. You just need to make sure that the buds you’re using, or the strains you’re growing have absolutely no THC content, which is the compound responsible for the typical high. Some brands such as Fast Buds do count with strains with only CBD content, so definitely opt for such strains to make sure you feel worry-free as you take your CBD oil.
