In an industry whose future is changing faster than anyone can keep up with, we interviewed an expert within the field to get her to take on the coming changes, innovative technologies, and increased safety measures within her industry. Meet Zara Harutyunyan, Founder of CRMC Aesthetics in West Hollywood, she is an Allergan certified injector and has built her reputation in southern California up from scratch after migrating from Armenia. This is her take on what we can expect to see in the future of aesthetic procedures and treatments.
What changes are we going to see moving forward in this industry?
“Increase in non-invasive treatments as opposed to going under the knife. (non-invasive treatments are less expensive, quicker results, fewer treatment risks) and an increase in technological advancements (as much as I love injectables I am also a firm believer in laser treatments) There are always new advancements (technology-wise) for the face and body which could help maintain results as well as reach new results.”
How are practices like CRMC and others taking steps to innovate within their space?
“I am reaching out to the right people for advice/mentorship, and seeking out the resources to continue to help CRMC grow. As for the others, they can grow by following these values of learning to accept failure, keeping up with the constant change going on within our field, and always being open to new ideas.”
How important is safety in this industry, and what are your thoughts on the current practices available today?
“Cosmetic procedures are amongst the most popular treatments out on the market, however with the popularity comes complications and safety measures that need to be taken for each client. All cosmetic treatments must be done safely and effectively with menial adverse effects (for this to take place you would need to go to someone who is experienced and knows what they are doing)”
Do you believe this industry will continue driving rapid growth and if so, what’s behind that growth?
“Yes, I do. There is always an increase in the demand for aesthetic procedures without going under the knife. Patients are always trying to look and feel their best without spending a crazy amount and without being “overdone.” Those who will be behind this growth are the aesthetic providers (such as myself) who can supply the demand and give the desired results patients are trying to achieve. It’s more of a domino effect.”
