Matt Blankenship Jr, frontman of a Los Angeles based synth-pop band, “The Sometimes Island”, has released a new song called, “Phantom Limb”. The music video for the song will be out in early October. The new song is all about the addiction to people that leaves us in a state of helplessness.

Initially, Matt penned down the song, “Phantom Limb” for another artist but he decided to keep it after seeing the positive response for the song on a tour. The song lyrics convey that addictions to people are more invisible than addictions to substances. And addictions occur in interpersonal relationships as a result of a lack of connection.

“Phantom Limb” song states that addiction leaves every sufferer in a tragic state of mind. It occurs when a person stays in a relationship longer than he should stay in it. The song says that addiction to people in relationships affects a person at a subconscious level. This leads him to the path of destruction and it makes him experience lows in his mind.

Matt Blankenship Jr released the Bad People EP which was called “the future of synthpop” by Buzznet. The Los Angeles-based synth-pop band, ‘The Sometimes Island’ has four members namely, Matt Blankenship Jr., drummer Nick Lopiano, guitarist Luke Bishop, and bassist Bryan Mears. The Sometimes Island made its debut with the full configuration at The Globe Theater in March 2019.

Frontman Blankenship Jr, known for his songwriting and production work, came into limelight in 2017 after creating Bad People EP. He has performed with BANKS, YACHT, Fred Falke, Bob Schneider, Alien Ant Farm, and other artists in his career. The artist has filled his audience with full energy with his live performances and music releases.
