Revolutionizing Radon Safety: Ecosense Leads the Way

Radon isn’t just a dangerous gas — it’s also extremely deadly. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, radon exposure is responsible for the deaths of more than 21,000 Americans each year.

When your loved ones’ lives are on the line, there’s no room for error. That’s why identifying the best radon monitor to monitor radon levels in your home is indispensable, but how can you tell which radon detector is the best?

The good news is that a leading organization for radon industry experts has recently released a new report listing the top continuous radon monitors (CRMs) based on testing conducted on consumer-grade CRMs this year. According to this study, only seven devices meet the organization’s criteria for detecting and monitoring radon effectively. Analyzing the performance and characteristics of each radon monitor, however, one company, with all of their radon monitors, clearly rises to the top: Ecosense.

Ensuring radon safety: (C-NRPP’s) Expert testing and recommendations on home radon monitors

The Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program (C-NRPP) is an educational institution that trains radon professionals in the proper detection, measurement, and management of this invisible, odorless, and poisonous gas. In short, no one knows better how to keep your family safe from radon than the C-NRPP.

The C-NRPP periodically surveys the radon monitors on the market, subjects them to annual testing to evaluate their performance, and determines which are best suited for homeowners. As the report itself explains, “In order to provide Canadian consumers with an unbiased performance-based comparison of commercially available radon monitors, the Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program (C-NRPP) developed a test procedure and conducted a series of performance tests.”

These tests took place at the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada’s National Radon Chamber. During four rounds of testing — with each test lasting seven days — this special room simulated increasing levels of radon emission as well as different weather conditions, such as high temperatures and humidity.

Identifying the top performer: Ecosense

After testing was complete, the C-NRPP rated the demonstrated accuracy of the devices’ readings on an alphabetical scale. An “A” grade means the device had a measurement error of less than or equal to 10 percent, while a “B” grade fell in the range of more than 10 percent up to 20 percent. Detectors received a “C” if their error rate was between 20 percent and up to 30 percent.

Only one company’s radon detectors received top marks, with both the Ecosense EcoQube and the Ecosense RadonEye receiving “A” grades on all four rounds. The Ecosense EcoBlu received three “A” scores and one “B.”

The other companies’ detectors didn’t even come close, with two consistently testing in the “B” range, and another receiving “Cs” for half its trials. The closest competitor to Ecosense earned only two “As.”

For this reason alone, Ecosense’s radon detectors warrant consideration from any homeowner. However, Ecosense’s monitors stood out from the pack for other reasons as well.

Ecosense: Leader in accuracy, precision, and speed

Importantly, most of the monitors named as good choices in the C-NRPP report purport to deliver roughly the same level of accuracy — approximately plus or minus 10 percent. Yet only Ecosense’s devices fulfilled this promise reliably in the C-NRPP’s testing.

In addition, the time it takes for the devices to start working differs, as another handy chart from the C-NRPP observes how many of the detectors require a full week to kick in. On the other hand, Ecosense’s products — the Ecosense EcoQube, EcoBlu, and RadonEye — start delivering results after only 10 minutes and attain peak accuracy in just 10 hours.

For homeowners who want to ensure their residences are radon-free as soon as possible, Ecosense’s detectors are the best way to go. All you need to do is plug in your Ecosense monitor, and you’ll have reliable data that same day.

Ecosense: Setting the standard for continuous radon monitoring

Radon problems can appear suddenly and severely. If a building shifts on its foundation or the ground beneath undergoes even a minor change, radon gas can start insinuating itself into your home despite never penetrating there previously.

Meanwhile, even a small amount of radon exposure can cause health problems for humans. As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention explains, “There is no known safe level of radon.”

As such, continuous radon monitoring is advisable. Only by sampling the air as often as possible can you be sure of catching incursions of radon early and get the most accurate long-term results While some of the devices in the C-NRPP’s report test the air for radon once a day or on an hourly basis, just one company’s products do so at least every 10 minutes: Ecosense. With 10-minute live updates, Ecosense’s devices offer a dependable rolling hourly average, capturing every fluctuation without omission. This ensures users gain a comprehensive overview for continuous monitoring.

Trust Ecosense, the best continuous radon monitors

Which Ecosense solution would make the most sense for you? If you’d like a simple digital monitor that plugs into the wall, consider EcoBlu. For a monitor that connects to WiFi and can send real-time notifications and long-term radon trends to your smartphone consider EcoQube. For a Bluetooth device, look no further than RadonEye.

The C-NRPP’s Consumer Radon Monitor Report gives homeowners a quick and easy way to pick a highly sensitive, accurate radon detector. For the most peace of mind, select one of the continuous radon monitors that performed best during independent third-party testing: the Ecosense EcoQube, EcoBlu, or RadonEye. These innovative, life-saving devices have demonstrated they are most worthy of your trust.
