As artificial intelligence (AI) technology continues to improve each day, thought leaders in every industry are exploring how to solve long-standing challenges by commercializing AI. Harnessing this innovative technology may be the solution to a wide variety of structural issues in sectors like media, healthcare, and financial services for instance — areas in which Bane Hunter is all too familiar.

A successful global transformation executive, project, and product manager, Bane Hunter has worked in the areas of technology, finance, entertainment, and government services, using his knowledge of modern and emerging tech advancements to organize projects and deliver successful outcomes. Now, he’s applying his passion for AI to business operations, zeroing in on outdated processes and targeting specific areas of improvement.

Experience with Innovative Technology

Hunter has always been at the forefront of technology innovation in business development. After receiving an MBA from CSU and a bachelor’s degree from The City University of New York, he served as the Chief Product Officer for Content Creation and Distribution at MTV Networks/Paramount Global.

There, he spearheaded the design of the first digital protection efforts for Viacom, a crucial program that ensured the protection of valuable intellectual property. This was just the beginning of his tech-infused approach to project management, one he would continually embrace throughout his career at leading organizations such as Conde Nast, A&E,  and Fox among others.

Looking Towards the Future

In recent years, Hunter’s focus has shifted to AI and its practical application in business. He’s long advocated for AI’s ability to “improve our lives and shape our future,” explaining that this innovative technology if properly deployed and managed will heavily impact  industries such as healthcare, transportation, financial services, and even energy efficiency.

Perhaps most importantly, Hunter also understands the limitations of AI in its current form. “AI is not a one-and-done solution,” he explains. “To fully leverage its potential, systems need to be designed for continuous learning and adaptation. Furthermore it’s not all about technology, issues such as ethics, legal and legislative considerations and data integrity are all equally critical”

Implementing AI and other innovative technologies makes sense considering that Hunter has long adhered to an Agile/Scrum mindset and business principle. Often used by software development teams, this framework allows for constant reassessment and encourages the implementation of appropriate technologies, including AI.

Practical Applications of Innovative Technology in Healthcare

While he’s long been a proponent of AI’s benefits in various industries, Hunter has recently zeroed in on a specific arena where this innovative technology could make a revolutionary difference: healthcare.

As Hunter knows, AI has the potential to improve diagnostic capabilities and even create clinical treatment plans for patients based on these diagnoses. In an industry where it can take weeks and even months for patients to receive proper treatment, faster turnaround times could be lifesaving.

Of course, even the benefits of innovative technology aren’t without flaws. He notes that, just as human clinicians can be prone to mistakes, AI should be held to even higher standards and not be considered foolproof. With patients’ health and privacy on the line, new technologies must be monitored closely.

Beyond formal treatment plans, AI can be used to assist in bureaucratic tasks, Hunter explains. Outdated information systems can be replaced by new models that allow patients to receive their medical records in a timely manner, and even create a unified database so that healthcare providers can easily share information in near real time regardless of location.

Finally, Hunter believes that AI has the power to aid in the potential of future pandemics. Predictive models could better prepare hospitals and medical staff for virus outbreaks, for example, or assist in geographic vaccine distribution. An example of this is that in the early days of Covid-19 he took the initiative to implement work from home for staff at his organization months before this became the norm as a result of data analysis of the pandemic vectors, something that the staff was profoundly grateful for.

Hunter has no shortage of ideas when it comes to commercializing AI, and is eager to implement the benefits of this innovative technology. His years of experience across industries, continually operating with modern processes in mind, places him in the perfect position to tackle these issues. As he puts it succinctly “ In order to solve the problem with maximum efficiency, you should fully understand and ideally have experienced the problem in all its agony firsthand. The clarity of purpose and desire for a working solutions are born from this”
