5 Global Criminal Organizations in the World

Throughout this world’s vast history, humanity has tried to regulate their civilizations. Regulate is a fancy word that encapsulates security, political control, and – quite simply – mitigating the bad in society. But, the thing about the bad is that someway, somehow, they manage to find a way past every wall built and every barbed wire coiled against them. If the legislation’s representation of security and protection is the military, at the opposite pole of it are organizations within the country trying to exploit regulation.

Let’s discuss some of the most notorious criminal organizations worldwide.

1. Yakuza:

Starting off with a name that you might’ve heard. The Yakuza is a Japanese crime syndicate with a history dating all the way back to the 17th century. The Yakuza were famously known as “monsters in suits,” notorious for their inhuman punishments. One of the internal punishments for any organization member committing “malpractice” will involve cutting the tip of their finger as a form of a lesson. If you want to be on the lookout for a Yakuza member, they are heavily tattooed with cuts on their fingers.

2. Camorra:

Italy has been the epicenter of criminal organizations throughout crime history and pop culture. However, one particular group has been ravaging the country since the 19th century. It grew to power in Naples after migrating from Spain. Just some of their antics include blackmail, extortion, and road robberies. Even after many manhunts and police investigations, the secret still society is active and running. Many Camorristis fled to the United States and have been feuding with other mafias.

3. Russian Mafia:

Speaking of the Mafia, you can’t talk about the biggest and baddest in the crime world without mentioning the Solntsevskaya Bratva. The Bratva rose to power in the 80s under the leadership of Sergei Mikhailov, a former waiter imprisoned for fraud. The “Bratva” translates to brotherhood, and this core value makes the Russian Mafia such a force to be reckoned with. The rite of passage of the Bratva shows how serious the organization is about its members’ allegiance and loyalty. The steps include fighting off the Bratva members, having your back cut by a comrade, and performing a “hit” successfully.

4. Mara Salvatrucha:

The Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, is revered as one of the most violent and popular street gangs in the Western Hemisphere. The gang came from poverty in the refugee-populated 1980s Los Angeles and has branches spread to Europe. It is a predatory organization with activities including extortion and drug dealing in neighborhoods. The size of the organization is what makes them so lethal.

5. Sinaloa Cartel:

Finally, taking a trip to Mexico, the Sinaloa is one of the most powerful criminal organizations in the world. It was previously led by a name that might be pretty familiar to you – Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. Based in Culiacan, Sinaloa state, the organization operates a massive network of drug trafficking, with estimated revenues ranging from $3 to $39 billion. Some even say it is bigger than the Medellin Cartel of Colombia, founded by Don Pablo Escobar. That says a lot.

There will always be evil in the world, but there will be good to counter it. Author Kenneth Lacisi crafts an exciting story of Tom Logan and Jack Pistrello, who, while investigating a violent assault on a US ship, stumble upon a criminal organization that looks to terrorize anyone who gets in the way of their agenda. Military fiction at its highest, the masterful writing prowess of Kenneth Louis Lancisi will leave you craving for more. Immerse yourself in A Taste of Bitter Justice now!
