Google is always changing, and in 2022 they have made some big changes. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, you need to know what these changes are. Google has always been a leader in the search engine industry, and their updates have shaped the way that we use the internet. These updates, released in 2022, have affected both users and businesses. Here, we will discuss what you need to know about these updates.

Page Experience Update (Desktop) – Released on February 22, 2022

Google announced that the Page Experience Update, which was previously released on mobile SERPs, is now being rolled out to desktop. Starting from February 22nd through March 3rd, this new update came with some changes including an increased number of factors involved in ranking pages higher or lower.

This ranking launch is based on the same page experience signals that the Google launched for mobile earlier this year. Their plan is also to help site owners understand how their desktop pages perform with regards to Search Console reports.

Product Reviews Update — Released on March 23, 2022

Google confirmed a significant product reviews update and changed the naming convention to match their Core Updates. The new system was rolled out officially on March 23rd with an estimated 19 day turnaround time for high quality content creators, which is based off previous product reviews updates.

The new Google Product Reviews Update aims to reward high-level product review content, above thinner ones. This latest version “builds on that work and enhances our ability for identifying quality reviews,” says the company in their blog post about it.

May 2022 Core Update — Released on May 25, 2022

Google’s broad core updates are a big deal. They don’t just impact search engine ranking factors, but every aspect of your content marketing and SEO strategy. This is the first broad core update in over six months since November, 2021.

In a world where Google is constantly updating its algorithm to rank content higher, it’s important for marketers and SEO specialists to not only focus on improving your ranking but also make sure you’re providing the best quality material possible.

These are just a few of the changes that Google has released so far in 2022. Stay up to date on all of the latest news and updates so that you can be prepared for what’s to come.
